The Folsom High School Drama Department is a member of the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA). Each year SARTA sponsors the Elly Awards. These awards are designed to recognize outstanding live theatre going on in the Sacramento Area.
Folsom High School Drama participates in the Elly judging process in the Educational Theatre Category. Our productions are judged against productions at other area high schools.
We are thrilled to announce that last spring’s musical Thoroughly Modern Millie received NINE nominations out of a possible eleven categories!
Thoroughly Modern Millie was nominated for the following awards:
- Best Set Design: Charles Davidson
- Best Lighting Design: Sally Slocum
- Best Choreography: Katie Rose Cunin & Danielle Dishman
- These two students are nominated against adult choreographers!
- Best Lead Actress: Rachel O’Laughlin
- Best Supporting Actress: Ren Elser
- Best Supporting Actor: Zac Becker
- Best Vocal Direction: Ginger Ekroth-Saxon
- Best Direction: Tamara Mosier
- Best Show
The Elly Awards will be held on Sunday, September 28th at 6:00 pm at the Crest Theatre. Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!
