Natoma and Coloma

Natoma and Fargo

Both will be "professional buildings" I believe.

Yes, an old Folsom family, the Economes, are developing the Natoma Fargo corner for professional buildings. They also own/manage the old Model Plaza complex at the corner of East Bidwell and Glenn Drive. That was back when they actually owned Model Pharmacy (George Econome was the pharmacist). It's now the location of Big 5 Sporting Goods, Folsom Hearing Aid Center, Great Escape Travel, and a few other businesses.

Natoma and Coloma corner is also planned for professional building. I would expect attorneys, accountants, engineers, since those are the occupants of nearby professional buildings. That corner used to be a gas station up until the mid-80s as I recall, and had extensive cleanup done because of the inground fuel tanks. Finally, it can be developed.

What about the two on Sutter St? One on Scott St, the other on Decatur, or was it Woll?

Any idea on those? From the sign, the Scott St. is "mid 2005" Looks like the one on Woll is going to pretty modern looking, hopefully they'll maintain the old-town look.

It's Wool Street, not Woll.

The developer of the lot on Decatur and Sutter is Jeremy Bernau who renovated the old C&C Market further down Sutter towards Reading (and did a great job in my opinion), and since redevelopment of Sutter Street requires certain adherence to historical design guidelines, I would guess your worries are unfounded.

As to the Scott and Sutter development, I haven't seen anything about that one.

Thanks Terry smile.gif I stopped by the sign on the Decatur (not, wool or woll) St. corner and what they've sketched out looks great! I'm really excited to see what's going to happen with that end of Sutter w/ the lightrail, the new restaurant, and that new development going in!

From the sound of the sign, the one on Scott seems to be the same sort of thing.. Retail/Light Commercial with possible Residential flats. No pretty picture to see there though sad.gif

It is nice to know that the historical guidelines will protect the image of the area and still allow for development. Looking at the picture closer it really seems like they've made a good balance between the two. I, for one, can't wait to sit out on the corner cafe they have pictured and have a snack!

Not to mention the railroad block... I'm going to go scour the other forums, but anyone know any more progress on this since the June 8th meeting on the folsom.ca.us site?
