Congrats to all of the schools in Folsom that scored high on their API scores!
Sandra J. Gallardo wins top billing again this year with Empire Ranch and Russel Ranch a close second!
I wonder how Folsom did comparatively speaking against other CA schools?

Folsom did very well... here's a great mashup that compares schools around the state. Blue=Good, Red=Bad.

Also serves as a good population density map.

It's sad to watch the transition from blue to red the closer you get into the city... I feel bad for those kids. :-(

Pic seems kinda busy. Numbers seem a more clear. Check out the official API results for Sac County here.

How can you feel sorry for them? I'm guessing most of those kids have parents that don't give a rat's A$$ about their schoolwork, so they get absolutely no parent support at those schools. I guarantee it.

^ While I agree that is probably the reason, it's not the kids' fault that parents don't help out.

As John said, it's not kids' fault....
there are some parents who are too busy in 'their own' world...and then there are some who are simply too busy holding down multiple jobs to make ends end meet.
that's why the demographics of the population reflects in the school scores...
that is the cold reality

Well, if we are talking about demographics....The white kids are bringing the asians down...If you look at the scores of just asians, they are at least 10-20 points higher......
So, higher asian population per school equals higher scores.......Just an interesting fact. I think as a population asian-children aren't smarter (but their parents have higher expectations) than other students, but education is valued and expected more...However, maybe they don't play sports or outside activities... Not really sure, just know the numbers...
