Wait -- I'm confused. Are you adding people to a list of users to see the political threads or are you adding people to a list of people who want to mask the forum to not see the political threads? I'd like to mask the forum so I don't have to see the political threads.
Thanks.

So far I still see the elections topics.
(P. S. -- I was content to just not open the topics, but as long as you're offering the choice to not even have to see them I'll use that option.)

count me as one that likes the political topics (like you couldn't guess that anyways).
Why, because in person, I prefer to not get into dialogue/arguments about politics, but online, I find it fun and sometimes intellectually stimulating, other times, just down right entertaining.
and when a topic gets too long, then I just make my choice to no longer open and read it.

If people don't want to read Political topics, all they have to do is not click on the them.
Am I missing something?

When I was younger my mom told me to stare at the sun but I did it anyways. Now with the Political topics masked I won't be tempted to click on them and waste my time reading the same thing over and over day after day.
There are also several threads going about the same thing, some are for supports, some are for all and some just for chipshot. Now I don't have to wade through those trying to find the ones I do want to read.

I fully understand.... it's kind of like trying not to look at a car accident as you go by....but we all still stare at the carnage
I think this is a great idea John, it will really help reduce some folks stress levels and although I'm tempted to sign up - instead I'm just going to try and ignore the trolls as revolutionist suggested yesterday
putting the trolls on ignore works out pretty well too

Even if I choose to not read a thread, I have to see the titles -- some of which are pretty arrogant, baiting, and or insulting. I really don't need to see that crap. Frankly, I'd much prefer a system in which people have to sign up to see the political threads (rather than opt out of seeing them) so guests and lurkers and newbies don't get a negative impression of the forum based on a few trolling threads.
