Can someone tell me how I can get the stinking dishes clean...
I've put that gunk thang in there... you know the stuff called "Jet Dry" that you put in there and let the thing cycle without dishes.. and I'm using the "Jet dry" stuff for the glass...
done that a couple of times...
but dang.. the stinking dishes still look a little funky... the glasses are a little "gleasy" and the coffee cups always seem to have stuff like sand stuck to them...
so here I am taking them out.. and having to "rinse" these suckers again...
Can somebody help me... is this something an appliance guy can take care of... by the way...
it's a stinking Maytag...
somebody help me... somebody....

You might want to check and see if there is an existing RECALL on your model. After moving in to our house, I checked and found there was a fire hazard recall on our Maytag. It was fixed for free.

sounds like maybe a problem with hard water deposits - or not enough water pressure or the water's not getting hot enough
is this dishwasher new-ish or fairly old?
what kind of dish soap are you using in it?

It may be a reduced water flow issue. Make sure that any strainers are clean so that water can flow as it should from the recirculating pump/sprayers. Make sure the water spray bars can move freely, and are not leaking a lot at their joints.
You might learn something by opening the dishwasher during various parts of the cycle to see if water and soap are where they should be, and that the bottom drain is functioning properly.

buy a real dishwasher, Bosch http://www.boschappl...SHX98M09UC.html.
I'll give you a demo in my home of mine. I happily ripped out my GE one which did a horrible job.
You'll be quite impressed with the Bosch. I've never had an appliance I loved SO MUCH.

Well said! After we moved here we replaced the existing GE dish washer with a Bosch and it was immensely better in both quality and design and its so quiet I can't even tell its turned on - I've even opened it while it was running by mistake because I didn't know it was on
Bosch makes a great product and they're very highly rated in consumer reports

Hand wash them like we do

You probably have build-up in your lines. That was the case for me...
The lines seemed OK, but I found the line between the air gap (not for overflow) and the disposal had sufferred shrinkage over the years. I cleaned mine and it all works well now. Probably easier to just replace if you know in advance. I was dealing with mine late at night...

I have to ask:
Do you load the dishwasher with dishes that still have food remnants all over them?
Do you pack as many dishes as you can into it before running it (my wife tries to do this)?
Yes, some people think cleaning your dishes before cleaning your dishes is a waste, but removing the majority of food stuff before putting the dishes in your dishwasher helps keep the dishwasher from getting it's screens plugged and helps let it do it's job properly. Over loading a dishwasher keeps the water from being able to spray with force onto all the areas of the dishes. and letting food particles harden onto the dishes before running it also challenges the cleaning skills of the best washers.
With that said, Bosch does make darn good dishwashers that are also well sound insulated, so you can barely hear them when they are running. Very nice feature in today's homes where the kitchen is open and adjacent to the family room so you can watch TV without cranking up the volume while the dishwasher is running.
My 2nd to the top of the line Kenmore is also very quiet. The cheap models will always be noisy like the home builders GE unit was.
