Hello everyone...
If you have children and you are in my address book you are recieving this email as a warning.
Yesterday, my son Nic (age 13) was at his friends house in Empire Ranch. They were in the garage working on bicycles. He noticed a man in a large white van (not minivan) sitting in his car watching them. His friend lives within view of Empire Oaks Elementary. When Nic went to leave at about 5pm the man was driving around the elementary in the bus loop slowly and watching him. There was a man in the passenger seat with a mask on. Nic described it as one of the rubber masks that looks like a president or regular person. He followed my son, and drove by him several times, the last time with the sliding door to the back of the van open. Nic went into a sales office for a new home community and stayed there.
We have filed a police report but would like to make sure everyone who has kids has all the information that we can provide. Other details of the van were wire grids on the back windows (back doors) and the hood was very rusted. My son did not get a really good look at the driver but said he believed he was ' kind of old ' with whitish blonde hair and a scruffy look like he hadn ' t shaved.
The police did mention to us that Tuesday is the day most circulars are sent out and there is a possibility that this van may have been doing that but he also had no doubt that he could have been following my son a signifigant way.

I received this email in addition to the other one about the weirdo in Folsom. This makes two incidents with the same white van. Pass it on to people on your email list.
This is in addition to the email that went out to some of you this morning. Unfortunately, this is the first I am seeing of this email. At approximately 11:35am I saw a suspicious white van driving up Parkway drive from the first roundabout past Kidder. They stopped at the roundabout and looked right down Parkway Drive. When I was going around the roundabout I noticed the van door (on the right side) was all the way open. I could see a hand holding onto the door jam, as though the passenger was sitting in the back holding on to the door that was open. They were driving very slow and waved me to go around them. I looked directly at the person driving. He was an older gentleman, maybe in his mid 50 ' s or 60 ' s. He had what I remember as darker hair with some grey or lighter color in it. He was wearing a white t-shirt. I drove very slow and kept me close behind me because I wanted to see if he drove out of the parkway. I got to the light at Blue Ravine and he was no longer behind me. I have reported the incident to the Folsom PD. PLEASE be aware of this van in our neighborhood and report it IMMEDIATELY to the police. I wish I would have been aware of the incident yesterday when I saw the van this morning.
PLEASE forward this to everyone you know. Even those who live in the neighborhood that can keep a look out for this van.

I want to tell you all about an incident that I experienced myself yesterday (Sept 12) here in Serrano on Villagio Drive.. It was a situation that was one of those where I had to ask myself, 'did that van just do that'? I was walking my dog about 9:00 am.. on Villagio Street right next to the park... I heard a car slow down right behind me and I could here the tires rubbing against the sidewalk as it was slowing down.. I could feel it getting closer to me and I began to question why would a car be pulling up behind me so quietly.. As I turned around, with the van within inches of me, I saw a guy close the side door and the driver sped off.. When I went to look at the license plate, there was no license plate and the van had no windows.. It was a white van but looked fairly new..Needless to say, I was freaked out but really didn't think much of it until last night and this morning.. Please, Please, Please ladies keep an eye out for your children of course but, also yourselves as you are walking and running..!!!!

Although they may not have been attractive, neither was wearing a mask.

Yes and pay no attention to the updates from the POLICE Dept. Just keep spreading rumors and fear until those phone book guys are eliminated!

I live a couple gates down from you guys in Serrano, I'll be on the look out for a white van if i see one. I hope the "security" in Serrano knows.. (no offense to the security of serrano, but crime still happens here behind these gates). But I would not mind a few more cameras around the entrance/exits of our Serrano neighborhood for instances like these.

They're delivering phone books as stated above. Police department has already confirmed it. No need for panic.

I've been thinking about this one..... do we really need telephone books? does anyone use them anymore? we have better (updated) online resources available with the yellow pages on this site and google and so many others..
In these days of high tech, large heavy phone books seem so archaic by comparison

I kind of questioned the same thing when this rumor was flying around Folsom. I don't need three or four versions of telephone advertisement listings whose print is too small for a person of my...ahem... vintage to read with out a pair of readers or magnifier anyways. I've strictly gone to the Interweb.

EDH Local - Was this from someone that you know personally, or was this forwarded?
My only problem with the phone book explaination, is that there would be no reason for a phone book van to be on Villagio on the park side.

Nice Dav. I guess older folks who don't use computers and other people who chose to use paper phone books should just not be allowed to have them? Could your view possibly be any more narrow minded?

I'm guessing it was forwarded, as my wife received the same forwarded email about a week ago.

And did they have plates on the van? If not the police should have it off the road.
