Newly elected council member Ernie Sheldon and third term council member Starsky were also sworn in during the meeting.
Miklos was first elected to the City Council in 1994. This will be his eighth terms as mayor. He also served two terms as vice mayor. Starksy was originally elected in 2000 and served one term as mayor.

A VETERAN
Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life".
That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Congrats to Steve Miklos on becoming Mayor and to Jeff Starsky for Vice Mayor, good luck gentlemen, we're counting on you to continue making Folsom a great place to live

I'm not surprised either. I heard it was a 4 to 1 vote for Steve to be Mayor
The Council is facing some very serious problems and will have to make some tough choices real soon to address these problems.
Wether you like Steve & Jeff or not, they both are well known and have established working relationships throughout the region with other elected officials. These relationships and their experience will be beneficial to the city during these challenging economic times we face.
I'm grateful the super majority of the council supported experienced leadership in these positions during this period. They did what is best for the City over some other agenda.
The Council is facing some very serious problems and will have to make some tough choices real soon to address these problems.
