Coyote Sightings-two Weeks Ago

WHERE was today's sighting?
This coyote is in Praire Oaks and the animal control told me if he's not bothering you, to just leave him be. I was surprised that they don't catch and release somewhere else, but he said they have to put them down b.c. if they relocate them they won't know where to go and they won't have their pack....Sad how developers, like Tree House don't have to relocate the animals when they destroy their habitat. I worry about my cat too.

Yes, it's very sad that people are allowed to build without regard for the wild life they are impacting. That wild life gets into our garbage, back yards and anywhere they think they can find a small item of food.
You can't blame them really...they have to fight to survive and should be allowed to in their own habitat.
I'd keep my cat inside at night, if I were you. Make her wait for her feeding until dinner time and then make her stay inside for the rest of the night. That might keep her safe for at least half the time she's outside.
The trouble with outdoor/indoor cats is they are hard to change into 100% inside cats.
Did you know the average life span for an outdoor cat is just 3 years, compared to the life span of an indoor cat who lives as long as 16 years?
Good Luck....
But who knows the real truth about the well? Who wishes to unleash the hideous forces it contains? What terrible consequences will follow the search for a legendary treasure hidden at the bottom?

I don't remember specifically what time of day it was, other than it was broad daylight. Probably somewhere between 8:30am and 3pm - just thinking about where I've been and when the last couple weeks.
It looked kind of worn out - ears angled down. Looking across the road, but didn't look like it was going to make a run for it. Just looking.
I didn't even think about calling anyone. But yea, the coyote didn't look right. Not overtly sick, but worn out and sad looking. Which might mean its sick, I have no idea..
Maybe it did get pushed out of its pack..?

I do miss when there weren't so many houses, the coyotes howling at night. Now you very rarely hear them.
We also used to have a lot of quail, and of course I don't see them as much either.

Our city leaders are turning our town into another Roseville because there's developer dollars to be had.

We used to see a coyote over by Livermore Park but haven't seen any for quite a few years now.

It creeped me out that they got over our fence and into our yard, but we have had lots of critters in our backyard at night.
I don't think the coyotes behind my house are starving...there are lots of critters to eat back there and neighborhood "outdoor cats" often don't make it home!!

I would caution kids (teenagers) walking around at night and parents to keep an eye out on their little ones at the park to make sure they are safe. This reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine states, "The Dingo ate your baby?!?" Yikes!
