Please, if you care about your kids, and about our community, come and attend our Healthy Families Forum, October 26I.
Although according to surveys, admitted drug/alcohol abuse is down, there are still far too many kids risking their futures and their lives every day by drinking, and other drugs.
This fall's forum, hosted by News10's Cristina Mendonsa, will help make you aware of the problem, how to recognize it, how real and close it is to your own home, and what you can do about it.
If you have a kid, are a kid, or know a kid, you need to hear what's going on.
The forum is informative, touching, and even entertaining.
In the end, we hope you'll come away with newfound awareness, and newfound hope.

Well, now since you added "have kids or care about kids" maybe I'll come. In your first post, you only invited me if I cared about my kids.

"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

I also wish that more people shared stevethedad's concern about protecting the youth in our community from the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
The Healthy Families meeting was excellent tonight and I learned quite a bit. Many high school students attended. (I think they received some class credit for doing so.) But where were all the adults?!.....Hopefully the word will get out, and more parents will attend the next forum scheduled for the spring.
Thanks Steve for helping to bring this program to the Folsom community.
