Are you a teen (or do you have a teen) with Attention Problems that are affecting school work?

We're trying to pull enough participants together to get an ADHD / ADD Group in Folsom paid for by health insurance. We need at least 3 more teens to get it started. The group would meet 2x Month Saturday mornings or One time a week on a weeknight, depends on the interest. If you might be interested send an email to the Psychologist organizing it: folsompsychologist@gmail.com

There is also an ADHD Parent Support Group that meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the Month at the Neuro-Linguistic Learning Center. For more information, visit www.swish4fish.com.

This Saturday, there is a special workshop for Parents. Gerald Hughes, Director of the Center, and Child Advocate Claudia Lowe, J.D. will be speaking on Overcoming Learning Challenges, Working with the school district, 504's and IEP's, and much more.

Thanks for the other suggestion. The group in Folsom never formed. I'll also try the back to school night at the local CHADD chapter that meets at Sutter Psych in Sacramento. I think Kaiser was also running a group in Rancho Cordova but it may not be open to non-Kaiser members. Thanks for the extra info.

Sorry to hear. There's such a need for up-to-date information. The CHADD group often has good speakers and valuable information. The two parent support groups at the Learning Center in El Dorado Hills each meet once a month on the 2nd and 3rd wednesdays of the month, respectively.

I also recommend downloading their free booklet, "Gifted--Not Broken: Overcoming Dyslexia, ADHD and Other Learning Challenges".

Could you please elaborate more all about what are your advocacy regarding ADD-ADHD, to clarify things why are you recruiting for additional person for your group. So they know what are you trying to point out.
