Anyone know what the plans are for that corner? Lots of construction lately, broken gas lines etc... just wondering as it is right across from Empire Oaks.

I heard from a neighbor that they are building a residential care facility for Alzheimer's patients. I've not confirmed this with the City, or read of the construction in the paper, so this may be incorrect.

Yes I heard the same thing. My husband and I were biking by the site and we stopped and talked to one of the guys working there. He said there are 2 things going there. The area they are working is an Alzheimer facility , but he did not know what was going to be on the other spot. If anyone else knows, inquiring minds would like to know! LOL have a great day everyone.! Love this beautiful weather.

my first bet would be drug rehab half way house, or low income housing...seems like that bullet is still out there

Yep, I heard it is an alzheimer's/memory care facility. I think that actually might be a good fit for that spot in that there won't be lots of additional kids (as there would be with condos or apts) since EO is already quite full. Plus, it will not attract a ton of extra traffic as a retail location would. I do hope it is a secure facility, though, as I know that some patients in these facilities can be at risk if they wander. Does anyone have more details on it?

Mystery Solved!
It took a trip to City Hall and the Planning Department on behalf of a client for me to finally get an answer this morning to a question I've been asked more than once during the past year: What is being built at the corner of E. Natoma and Golf Links? According to the helpful clerk at the planning dept counter, it will be an Alzheimer's care facility. I did some more digging on the City' web site and found the public notice related to the project, dated last May. The project is described as a 66-unit Alzheimer's senior living facility on a 3-acre site. So there you have it, one small mystery solved.
