Drove by today and noticed that Big Dip is gone and we are getting another much needed Mexican restaurant - La Rosa Blanca.

dang it!!! while big dip needed a face lift and remodeling, I wish it would have been a new tenant who was thinking more along the lines of Taylors Refreshers than yet another Mexican place.

I wish. Not that I like Big Dip, but at least it was something different!

bummer, I liked big dip, and there already is a mediocre mexican restaurant located there right across the street (so azteca).

We were there last week and noticed a "table for sale"sign on the outside picnic tables. I thought they were going to upgrade, not go away!

That blows, I will be very surprised if a Mexican place can last at that location.

The place does need some major re-beautification, but I think a non-chain burger joint could do pretty good there if they cleaned it up, and marketed it properly. Made it like a burger version of the Urban dog & sausage joint.
I would rather be Backpacking

Geesh, a long standing joint like Big Dip goes down... I have friends in their 60's who went to Folsom High and that WAS the place to hang out!!Do we dare do a head count of the number of Mexican joints in town???? It might scare you and I, are we being invaded like L.A.? At least we have 1 good hotdog and sausage place.... Sadly only one seafood restaurant, I don't count fish&chips in a true seafood sense.

yeah, I agree, when the only cooking method in the place is deep-frying, it's a deep fry hut, not a seafood hut, even if the only meat is a variety of seafood.

I never saw a For Lease or Business for Sale sign out on the street. That might have attracted a better business. so sad. that was the old high school burgers and soda place since the 1960s!! Big Dip, 45 years at least. Gone forever?

Hard to say goodbye to a Folsom icon, but the place was in shambles. Let's hope the new owners put some time and care in to the place.

I'll bet they were avoiding the ADA trap you fall into once you start making improvments.
