I did a little research and apparently it's called Scott's Seafood (or something similar) now... this is at Greenback & Madison and overlooks the part of Greenback that goes toward Folsom.

A little bit before I even moved to the area in October '90, my parents and I ate there (my dad was opening a business). I remember right when you walked in, there were a few video games (that's an 80s thing that was still huge for a few more years). I played this car chase one, and was really excited when we moved to OV, since I'd get to go there all the time and play it, lol.

Foodwise it was great too. It was like a really upscale Denny's, but more personalized too. Like people had birthday parties and had some of the best desserts. When did it become Scott's, and is it anything like that today?

I remember that location and going there back in 93-94. I don't remember when that location closed and when Scotts went in. There is still a Woodys in Sac and one in Rocklin I believe.

^ Oh right on, I didn't realize it was a (small) chain. Nice to know there's still a couple of them around. Do you think Scott's is any good? If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely go there, partly for nostalgia and just to see what it's like now.

Scott's has good food, but you won't find the wind surfboard hanging from the ceiling anymore.

Scott's is nothing like Woody's was.. if you're looking for great food... go to Scott's but if you're looking for nostalgia, laid back, casual, with video games... go to Red Robin, closest thing to Woody's I think.

ducky - wow I forgot all about the surfboard! Yet another way it seemed retro.

bv1016 - I agree with you about Red Robin. There's some in San Jose and I always like them for those reasons. The first one I ever went to was the one on Riley, I think they'd just built it in '94.

As I recall it was a Red Robin first, then Woody's, then Scott's as it remains today.
