Hey guys, im renting a cabin with some family and friends in South Lake Tahoe for my bday- Feb 4th, I plan on renting it from Feb 5th- Feb 7th...

Anyone know of a place to get good deals? Im just an average guy looking for a nice bday getaway that I deserve, havent had one in a while... hopefully we get a nice place! It will be about 8-10 people...

I'd like to be by the casinos, if possible or near heavenly... any advice would be appreciated!!

Marriott Timberlodge is nice. It's a timeshare place and they have 2 and 3 bedroom suites; full kitchen, etc. It's right next to the gondola.

Understand. It will be tough to get a cabin near the casinos though. Those are usually in the Reagan Beach area or up Kingsbury grade.

This is a great time to bargain because alot of vacation rentals are empty. As for "cabin" that is a rare thing or at least my interpretation of the word. A cabin in what you find along Hwy 50 on teh way to Tahoe like Sciots Camp, Mt Ralston, Echo Lakes etc and yes a few in the old areas but most homes in Tahoe are small houses (to Folsom standards where <1200 sq ft is small). Anyway you can get nice places like you pointed out but the closer to Heavenly or casinos or beach in summer, the higher the rate.

As a Tahoe native living down the hill now, one thing to keep in mind is always be respectful of the permanent neighbors with parking, lights, noise, parties etc.
