Is it my imagination, or have others in ER noticed that in the last two weeks the planes seem to be flying VERY low?
We've lived here four years now and have never been bothered by the air traffic. (The fact that we are under a flight path was disclosed to us before we purchased the home.)
Showing my ignorance here......Might cloudy or foggy weather account for this low flying altitude?

I suppose it's reasonable to expect if they can fly lower to get underneath the overcast deck, they would prefer to fly where they can see where they are going than stay in the clouds where they can't see.

I noticed it the other day, maybe Wednesday? I was on 50, exiting E. Bidwell, and noticed a big plane flying real low. I didn't think much of it, but heard that same plane, or similar plane, flying low over our area the rest of the afternoon. Since we live close to that exit, I am used to planes, but this plane seemed exceptionally loud and low. My husband assumed they were doing training flights from Mather??

We noticed a plane or two also.
We have never been bothered either, however, I think it was last week or two weeks ago, one was supper noisy and it almost felt like it was going to land in the back yard LOL (must have been flying low).

Most of the freight carriers, i.e., Fed Ex, UPS, etc. fly into Mather for their drops. Also, Cameron Park is very close, which has it's own private owner airport (homes have their own hangers). A lot of small planes are probably taking off and landing there which may account for some of the low flying aircraft as well.
