My 2 cents:
1) Looks like a giant iPod. Way to go out on a limb here Apple.
2) Nice name. Will next year's model be the MaxiPad?
3) I like the idea of the newspaper, not sure I'd use it though.
4) Methinks it will be an iDud.

From everything I've read so far about it - it's just a big iphone, has no major application capabilities such as using photoshop, word, excel, dreamweaver, etc.... you know useful stuff, more so then video streaming and photo displays

I want one. I understand the niche Netbooks and the iPad (I concur, stupid name, but I think it sounds too close to iPod) are trying to fill. I would love this just for my living room. Am I going to drop $7 bills on a glorified home web browser? No.

It's missing, IMO:
1) Bluetooth accessories (still waiting on these for my iPhone, too), specifically: Keyboard
2) Webcam - This would be great to have on the coffee table and take a video call from grandma.
3) Filesystem - How can I iWork without attachments? File management is key for "real" work.
4) Sync with iPhone - Not sure how this is really going to pan out, but I was hoping for whiz-bang features a la Microsoft Surface where you can drag pictures and content straight from iPhone to tablet. From what I can tell, the iPad is still too dependent on a "real" computer.
5) Flash - C'mon Apple, cave already!
6) 1080p HD and HD Out - WTF?! 1024x768? and only a VGA out? Welcome to the year 2000!

No multitasking is the big fail in my book.

word, excel, etc. it has iWork. Seemed to work nicely and for only $10/pc is a pretty darn good deal.

ohh--i would like to go look at it. if anything--web surfing $14.99/month is gonna pay itself.

on the other hand--this is going to take off and be a dud within 3 years--lots of apps will be added or updated making this one a first generation monolithic dinosaur.

if it is a decent replacement to the sony reader (hate the kindle) I will love it. Nice and big. perfect for the lazy sunday read, sitting in the car waiting on the kids to get out of whatever activity they are involved in...e-mail catcher upper from work, and readable in the car!!

I wish they had come up with a better/ more clever name than iPad. Not sure what to make of it yet. I guess I was expecting lots of bells and whistles. It looks nice enough, but I am curious if it would make a good e-reader or if another e-reader would be better. Not sure if it is worth the $$ or not.

its a bomb. its just a huge ipod touch.

i have an ipod touch and I rip movies to it via handbrake and its great and fits in my pocket.

i could see this as a good thing for schools and school kids, but who/what school district is going to shell out that much per student that is one drop or theft away from disappearing.

when are these companies going to learn, unless i really have to, i will watch tv or movies on my 60 inch plasma, not an itty bitty computer / tablet.

and personally, i'd rather have my paper on paper, if at all.

i am eager to see the first idork walking around with one of these, an iphone, and a laptop. stupid.

seriously reminds me of an Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode, eDork. watch it and laugh and then cry...eDork

i mean, do you see the similarities between Steve Jobs and Shake? if you don't you're in trouble.

Steve Jobs is the CEO of Apple. Shake is in the cartoon I put a link to. You'd have to watch it to understand....
