Did anyone else see the Public Notice in today's Telegraph about the Sports Garage on Blue Ravine? Could that be the old Ravine restaurant?

Yes, we were nearby a few days ago and there is now a "Sports Garage" sign up on the front where The Ravine used to be. Hope it turns out to be more successful than the last 2 endeavors that went in there...

Mario is the owner and he has a much better track record than the last guy who ran The Ravine into the ground. It looks to have a sports bar theme and entertainment. Cool...... laugh.gif

I stopped by the Sports Garage on my walk yesterday and talked to the owner (I think). He said they are shooting to be open by St. Patty's day. It looks like the interior is pretty much done. Lots of high top bar tables, the piano is gone, and there are at least half a dozen big screen TVs. They said they are planning on having 16 beers on tap, but it will still be a place that will be kid-friendly. They are planning to do a lot of work with the local softball and soccer leagues. He said they'll have NFL Sunday ticket and breakfast once football season is back. He also said that they'll show World Cup soccer this spring.

Sounds like a great place. Especially since it's stumbling distance from my house! smile.gif

I talked with Mark the popular bartender from Taco Loco and he will be bartending at Sports Garage. Everyone stop by and show him your support.

I stopped by the other day while they were doing training.

They said they were now shooting for the 26th.

I don't know Mark the bartender, but I do know that there was one at Taco Loco who was often accused of overcharging.

No, Stevethedad, Mark doesn't overcharge his customers... The person you've heard about is Juan.... and that is why they have lost some customers... too bad... but it IS Our money and we can spend it how and where we want.....

The overcharging had NOTHING to do with Mark it was Juan. Mark was very well liked by his customers.

News Flash!!!! The Garage will open on Friday the 9th. at 4:00 P.M. Being a foodie and bar guy, I stuck my head into the place today and met Mario the owner and spoke with him for awhile... The place is very well done with the bar and plenty of seating with several long high top tables that can seat six or eight people... nice... they will feature 18 beers on tap as well as a full service bar. I perused the 3 or 4 page menu and it looked very well thought out. Along with the standard fare of burgers and hot dogs, they also offer soups, salads, steaks and pasta dishes.. not your typical "sports bar" offerings for sure.. Mario seems to be very concentrated and focused on making this venture a (Home Run) !! This guy knows the industry and encourages any and all feedback or input so that he and his qualified staff can better suceed in the tough business climate that exists today.. In other words he said that they are going to make some mistakes, but he wants to be made aware of them so they can make the proper adjustments to satisfy the situation...In passing, he is also the owner of Early Toast very close by in the shopping center....
