We just received a NetFlix instant streaming disc for Wii. I will probably check it out today. Has anyone else tried this? Does it work well?

We've only done it with the Xbox 360, but I assume it works about the same as a Wii. For us, it seems to be hit and miss. Sometimes the picture is fine, and sometimes it is so awful we stop watching. It depends on bandwith/connection I guess.
Also, the movies are typically older, obscure ones. I don't know why - maybe legal issues with HBO etc.? Or it takes time to digitize them? Becuase of these 2 issues, we rarely watch our movies in this format.

I use it on XBox all the time. It works great apart from a few issues:

1) Quality is "okay". It's digitized, and it's noticable. But for instant TV, it's nice.
2) Comcast sucks. Dropouts of the Net cause Netflix to resync at even worse quality. I usually stop/restart after a Comcast suckage so I get back to the "top" quality.
3) The content is limited. Great stuff for the kiddo, and I love streaming TV shows (catching up on Weeds right now for example). But for new or hit movies, you have to get a disc.

We've done it using the PS3. It works fine and picture quality is good. The only issue we had is the movie would occassionally freeze and we'd have to restart and wait for it to sync up. It would pick up where it left off so it's not like you missed anything . It was just kind of annoying.

The last movie we tried with streaming I think it only happened once so maybe the first one was just bad luck.

We don't do Netflix streaming often because most of the Instant Play movies are older titles. We just wait for the discs in the mail. It's worked out to one a weekend because that's really the only time we have to watch anyway.

Used it yesterday to watch a stand-up comedy DVD - worked fine.

We have been using it for the past week or so. Basically since we got the cd from netflix.

We are really enjoying the capabilities of watching it via the wii. Great quality, no problems with streaming, etc.

Sometimes we forget that we have to use the wii remote to pause or stop, but it's no big deal. You should definitely try it!

This sounds cool. Are folks able to do this with the Wii on WiFi? (vs. a hard network connection)

Can you provide information on how you use the XBox 360 to stream Netflix to your TV? We are trying to figure it out, and know that it is possible.

Thanks!

Yes, we use our wireless. First you have to go to netflix and request a disc for the wii. You can do that here: http://www.netflix.com/NetflixReadyDevices...p;lnkce=nrd-ohm

Ours took about two weeks to come. Then you just follow the instructions to stream the watch it now movies on your t.v.

We are having connection issues. We have att wireless and used the wireless network auto search on the wii. It found our wireless connection (WIRE###) but it is indicating that our password is incorrect. We are using the correct password. I'll play with it more later. It is always something isn't it?

You have to have a XBOX live account with the membership. Runs $20 for 4 months. You can pick it up at most retail stores (Target, Walmart, CVS...etc). Once you start your xbox live account, the netflix will be on your dashboard and start your netflix account through XBOX.

Do you guys have a 2wire modem/connection? I only ask because I had the same problem trying to connect to my mother in law's wifi a few weeks ago. We tried EVERY password she could think of. We gave up and I called my techy husband. The password we had to use was actually on the BOTTOM of the 2wire modem. There are about three separate sets of numbers, but from what I recall it was the one that is in the middle. (Not the one above or below.) Maybe that is the same problem you are having.... ?
