I do not usually make observations about chain restaurants, small or large. But during these trying times I must tell others about the lunch specials at W.B. They are is many ways what your Mom or Grandmother used to cook.. The specials are as follows.
Mon. Meat loaf, mashed potaoes, veggies, texas toast and a desert
Tues. Sirloin tips over egg noodles with gravy and texas toast and desert
Wed. Pot roast, roasted root veggies, brown gravy and texas toast and desert
Thurs. Homemade spaghetti and garlic toast and desert
Fri. for those inclined, Liver and onions with veggies OR 2 pieces of cod filet and fries with coleslaw and desert
Bottom Line... $6.95 including desert. From what I have sampled over the last month or so find this to be "stick to your ribs" good 'ol home cooking!! Sheesh, I just paid over $10.00 for a sandwitch and cup of soup trying to buck up a newcomer to Folsom... Which I have previously aformentioned in an earlier post.. check W.B out, go hungry, eat and then take a power nap!!! hehe

Have you been there for breakfast, waffles, etc?
If so how was that? I have been thinking about giving them a try. If I go to breakfast I usually go to the Gold Miner.

Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life".
That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

We love Waffle Barn, staff is friendly, food is EXCELLENT, and we're waffleholics! Their omelets are great and we've had pretty much everything there at one time or another.

I have been there many times and for basic breakfast (eggs, omelettes, pancakes and oh yeah WAFFLES), or lunches it is pretty good, the prices very reasonable and the service prompt and friendly.
Davburr did a review on it http://www.myfolsom....afflebarn.shtml and his note about the 3 or 4 skillets they offer....Wow you better be hungry and love potatoes because you will be set.

Their outdated and neglected website is here, if anyone wants an idea of the menu.

My wife says she prefers the waffles at Gold Miner. I've never been to Waffle Barn, been meaning to try it, but I don't argue waffles with a pregnant woman.

Fastest service in town-and when strawberries are ripe-they use the real deal not the frozen sugar strawberry stuff.

Easily the best waffles in town. Rest of breakfast is good. Lunch is so-so but, hey, it's a breakfast place.

I must agree that they have the best breakfast in town. I have not tried any lunch items, but their waffles, omelettes and skillets are amazing!

Well, since my mom is a vegetarian and LOVED wheat germ sprinkled on everything and didn't feed me meat until I was 4, I sincerly doubt they serve what she used to cook!

But seriously, thanks for the introduction, this sounds like a good little find.

We went a lil while after they opened and were disappointed with both the service and the food. We used to go to Gold Miners, but have been going consistently to Ernie's for the past cpl years.
