Anyone here used NutriSystem? Costco seems to have a good deal on it.

A buddy of mine and his wife are on it, it seems to work for her, but honestly, either he's cheating on the diet or it's not doing a darn thing for him, he still looks the same size and its been about 6 months.

I tried it, worked for a while, but it wasn't long before I just couldn't face eating that food anymore.
I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

Although I have not tried the system, strangely enough after our credit card was stolen a huge box of Nutrisystem stuff arrived. After several fruitless phone calls trying to figure out where to return it, we just kept it.

I'm sorry to say that we found most of the food extremely unpalatable. I would try to eat some of the things myself, or foist them on the kids for school lunches (it's conveniently pre-packaged), and everyone rebelled. The foods look so delicious on t.v. but in reality, we found most things very cardboard-y.

I'd rather (try) to eat less of something that tastes good.

A co-worker did this program and lost a ton of weight. I found the food to be very tiny portions of processed food. It didn't look appealing at all. If you are willing to starve and eat food that doesn't taste well then it's the right program for you.

Personally, I am a fast food addict. Truely, it's my one addiction...grease and carbs...it's horrible. I am gonna try the lifestyle (diet) that my parents follow and helped them loose tons of weight and keep it off for years.

1st...leave cash and atm cards at home...so you won't be tempted...I had to do this while I was pregnant and it worked...but now I have gotten lazy. Bring only what you will eat that day. Have a few snacks stocked like almonds or protein bars in case you forget your daily meals.

2nd..The overall diet is an adaption of the blood type/geno type/zone diet....High protein, green/yellow veggies and some fruit.

-Eat a balanced diet of Protein 40 Carbs 30 Fat 30 at each meal or snack.
-Eat 5 times breakfast, snack,lunch,snack,dinner (eat before you get hungry)

Overall it's hard because it allows wiggle room but requires you to know the fat/carb/protein ratio. My dad puts it best by saying...if it doesn't come from the ground or has more than 5 ingredients then you probably don't want to eat it. Easier said than done but I am gonna make this a lifestyle. No matter how many potlucks or holidays which try to get me off track.

There will never be a substitute for REAL foods and exercise. I eat pretty much whatever I want, that isn't processed, which takes some discipline but gets easier as you do it. No beef, or pork ever. Poultry and Fish only. Just real food. No pre-made microwave meals. Those things are horrible for you. The result? I've lost almost 30 lbs since the end of January. Exercise consists of cycling at 18-20mph for 1-2 hours, 3-4 times a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. The endorphin rush alone after a hard workout makes it worth it. Good food and exercise.

I know people that have used it and have lost, but after they go off of it they gain it right back.
We use Weight Watchers and there is no substitute for real food. WW you can do online, and with great success.
You can eat whatever you want. You just need to stay within a certain parameter. Actually, I did it because I needed the parameters, but there is no substitute for just plain healthy eating and exercise. There is no quick fix.
Eat your dinner on salad plate and cut out the sweets and alcohol, if you drink, etc and I will guarantee that you will lose weight. When I measured out food I had no idea that I was eating 3 times the amount of what I should.
Good luck, as I know it is getting to be nice outside and we all want to look good and be healthy.

My no beef is because I have never eaten beef so I cannot digest it. The no pork is a personal preference. In no way does any of it have to do with animal rights.

Check out the sodium levels of the packaged food. To be able to preserve everything, the food is swimming in salt. It sent my blood pressure soaring.
I call what's leftover my holocaust food.

I remember my dad trying this, maybe 20 years ago. The fridge was full of tiny boxes of obviously terrible food. It's one of the first times I was sorry for him!

You got to choose from their list of meals. Like others have said, their food is highly processed. At first its ok, but after a while you just can't do it anymore. And it makes you have gas really bad.

I wouldn't recommend it.

BTW, the salt has caused some people to get gallstones and was related to the salt content-gross!
Americans, don't just come in one color or race.
