just a quick comment about the balcony bistro at its new location. I tried to eat there on Thursday night, the first night of the Thursday nite market. It was not that busy, but they seemed to be overwhelmed. We sat at our table for 10 minutes without anything, not even water and we seemed to be totally ignored while another table that came in after us at least got water and silverware. In these days and times I think you need to be on your best game if you want repeat visitors and good reviews. I do not know what the problem was but if you are open for business then you should wait on people! Needless to say we walked out and there was no one to tell. I know you have been around a long time but I'm really sick of poor service! Hope u get it together

Sounds just like it was at the old location to me.

Whoever the owners are, they really should be told about the bad service.
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

they must know by now. seems like they got panned on a regular basis at their other location. I really really want them to succeed. this may be a case for Chef Ramsey!

I don't think Ramsey can fix owner attitude, although he sure does try....

I've enjoyed the food at BSB at their old location and look forward to trying out the new place, but I've got a big pet peeve with bad service and avoid places with bad service like the plague... life's too short to put up with poor service

well, it has to be more comfortable than the old place. their tables and chairs were stiff and uncomfortable. hopefully they saved some of the old Lanza's booths. We'll try them again. Have to encourage the small business owners, especially on Sutter Street these days.

Went to Sutter Street Grill for lunch...mmm good. Went there last week and had the burrito scramble and fruit cup from their $4.95 "before 9am breakfast specials". It was also very good. Service friendly, prompt and professional. Oh and got a few chocolates at Snook's too tongue.gif

Fully agree, and I do plan to give them a try someday soon. Like I said before I always had a good meal at their old place, the service wasn't spectacular but hopefully that will be improving.

I'm hooked on Sutter Street Grill for breakfast, its the only place we go out for breakfast these days, its always really good and the portions are so big my wife and I usually end up sharing a dish.

Amusingly, I've stopped going to SSG because of bad service. Never get what we ordered, always takes forever, always something wrong or missing.

I still love Goldminer, but lately have been digging on Waffle Barn.

laugh.gif You're a magnet for bad service, wrong orders and food poisoning. You might want to consider brown bagging it from now on... tongue.gif (just razzin ya lil' buddy)

I love the omelettes at Lake Forest Cafe. and I love that it comes with whole wheat toast and a ton of fresh fruit and that the honey is in little pots from Clouds.

thread officially re-routed (sorry!)

Really? I actually think I generally get pretty good service. Wrong orders seems to be consistent at places with little quality control (usually from the top-down). Food poisoning is mostly just from Chili's. You'll never see me in that place ever again!

I've been to SSG dozens of times and (knock on wood) have never received a wrong order there, and the food I've had has always been very good quality.... that's why I keep going back. Can't say the same for Gold Miners, the quality there has gone downhill lately (for some reason) - it used to be the only place I went, but I found SSG to be much better by comparison.

Didn't you say you also got food poisoning at Sudwerks and one other place in town (besides Chili's)?

Oh yeah, I got hair in my beer (and got told off for it by the bartender) and got food poisoning twice (from one visit) at Sudwerk. That place just sucks sad.gif

I'm curious:
How do you get food poisoning twice from one visit?

Did you take your vomit to a laband after analysis-find out if had two separate bacterias in it?

Ok- really-on to more serious stuff- I love waffle barn. Love the owner. I always go before 7am. Her black coffee is always piping hot. Not a drop of superficialiality in her coffee mugs.
