O’Reilly: Obama Could Face Impeachment If He Pardons Illegals
Fox News' Bill O'Reilly is warning that if President Barack Obama ever bypasses Congress and uses his pardon power to make millions of illegal aliens citizens, he could face serious calls for his impeachment.
“If President Obama were to sign an executive order giving illegal aliens amnesty, his career would be over and an impeachment movement would explode,” O'Reilly said Friday night on his “Talking Points” segment during his top-rated Fox show.
At the same time, O'Reilly said he did not believe reports that the Obama administration would grant such a blanket amnesty.
Fox News, however, reported this week: “The Obama administration has been holding behind-the-scenes talks to determine whether the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant legal status on a mass basis to illegal immigrants, a former Bush administration official who spoke with at least three people involved in those talks told FoxNews.com.”
The Department of Homeland Security estimates that at least 10.8 million illegal immigrants are living in the United States.
During his 2008 campaign, Obama promised pro-immigration and Hispanic groups that he would make an amnesty program a top priority. But such a plan has taken a back seat in favor of other Obama legislative initiatives, including healthcare and financial regulation reform.
With congressional elections fast approaching, both the legislative calendar and the climate for new immigration legislation appears to offer immigration legislation a slim chance of passing this year.
Republicans, led by Arizona Sen. John McCain, have been angered that Obama has done little to secure the U.S.-Mexico border, and have made that a prerequisite condition before any discussion of immigration reform can take place.
Reports that the Obama administration is weighing ways to circumvent Congress have Republicans worried. On Monday, eight Republican senators sent the president a letter saying they are concerned that he will grant unilateral amnesty to America's illegal immigrant population if his efforts to overhaul current U.S. policy fails in Congress.
The letter called on Obama to abandon any attempt to "unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. Such a move would further erode the American public's confidence in the federal government and its commitment to securing the borders and enforcing the laws already on the books."
The eight senators who signed the letter were Charles Grassley of Iowa, Orrin Hatch of Utah, David Vitter of Louisiana, Jim Bunning of Kentucky, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Thad Cochran of Mississippi.
GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa told Fox News that the White House has solicited opinions from experts on possible avenues for granting "amnesty for a large number of people."
A former Bush administration official also told Fox News that talks on the subject have been held by Obama officials who are "studying legal ways to legalize people without having to go through any congressional debate about it."
Republicans believe that Obama is anxious to grant citizenship to millions of illegals so he can add millions of new Democratic voters to the electoral rolls, ensuring his re-election in 2012 and tipping the national balance of power in favor of Democratic candidates for the foreseeable future.

Every time I turn around this administration is figuring out some way to go against the will of the American people.
I am beginning to think he fancies himself Emperor Obama who can't be troubled with such things as separation of powers, listening to the public, answering questions from the press or following the due process of Congress....
Then again, the Congressional leadership is guilty of those same things....
What a sorry state of affairs.

Do I hope he leagalizes 11 million illegals so he gets impeached and we are rid of his leadership?
or do I hope he is stopped before he makes that big mistake, and we just have to live with his leadership for another 2.5 years before he gets voted out for being one of the worst presidents during my lifetime.

People are fed up with the crime they bring, the jobs they take and the services they get in the billions of dollars the tax payers have to pay.
They are also sick and tired of hearing the illegal Mexicans here, talking about taking over America and how Americans are stupid to be patriots.

There are other races here illegally, but none rub it in our face more than the people from the country of Mexico. None march and protest as much as they do. And none show more disrespect towards the country whom they wish to live in and take from.

God damn Republicans destroying the country right and left, didnt lift a finger to fix the proglems when they had control of three branches of government, and all their supporters can do is pull the impeachment card on Democrats for BJ's and hypothetical and perfectly legal executive actions... Truly mind-boggling!

Yeah, I was pissed when Reagan granted amnesty as well, that helped fuel the fire.
Just because a Republican did the wrong thing doesn't make it OK for Obama to do the same.

mmmm---I'm a democrat and I strongly felt Reagan should have been impeached-when he was in office!
He broke the trust of Americans.
Don't damn God, for that! It was Reagan that did it.

I'm glad you posted this.....LOVE IT! LOL!!!

The liberal press wants our pity for illegal immigrants who fear getting arrested in Arizona and are now fleeing as the new law goes into effect there.
Here is a "Pity" tape on how illegal immigrates are fleeing Arizona in fear they will be thrown in jail, and just shows how they drain the system in receiving Welfare when they are not employed and have numerous children they can not support. In this case the woman interviewed had ten anchor babies in this country, over a period of fifteen years. She says her and her husband are jobless and are moving to Colorado.
They have had jobs in the construction and restaurants in the past, but now are both unemployed. One child said she missed her friend who's family moved to California, out of their concern over being arrested for being in Arizona illegally. I guess we can expect many more coming here from Arizona to collect Welfare and get housing. Wonderful! Just what we need!
A man who rents his houses to many illegals complains he is losing money...he has several vacancies...can you believe this!
These people move here knowing they are breaking the law but then are angry when they think they will get busted. Hear what this woman says when asked if she feels she is a criminal.....she can't even speak English after spending fifteen years here!
This is unbelievable!

John fonte has a pretty thoughtful piece on that and other things HERE
ASSIMILATION, IMMIGRANT DUAL ALLEGIANCE, AND THE HEALTH OF REPUBLICAN CITIZENSHIP
One challenge of globalization that American conservatism has not adequately addressed is the related issues of the patriotic assimilation of immigrants on the one hand and immigrant dual allegiance on the other hand¾and the relationship of these two issues to healthy republican citizenship.
The response by elites in general to globalization has weakened the process of assimilating immigrants and the concept of American citizenship itself. Our policy the last forty years is the exact opposite of that of the Founding Fathers. The Founders advocated assimilation.
In a letter to John Adams, George Washington declared that immigrants should be integrated into American life so that "by an intermixture with our people, they, or their descendants, get assimilated to our customs, measures, laws: in a word soon become one people."
In a 1790 speech to Congress on the naturalization of immigrants, James Madison stated that America should welcome the immigrant who could assimilate, but exclude the immigrant who could not readily "incorporate himself into our society."
In 1801, Alexander Hamilton recommended that we gradually draw newcomers into American life, "to enable aliens to get rid of foreign and acquire American attachments; to learn the principles and imbibe the spirit of our government.
For the last forty years our response to the large-scale immigration, brought on, in part, by increased economic globalization, has been the opposite of what the Founders proposed. Our elites have instituted a de-facto anti-assimilation policy through the promotion of bi-lingualism, multiculturalism, and the denigration of America’s historical narrative and national identity. ...
One hundred years ago the President of the United States in 1907 expressed a different point of view:
“…If the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Either you are naive or not telling the truth.
Let us say Obama figures out a way to accord amnesty to the illegals - ...there is absolutely no way would they be able to vote in 2012. No way, whatsoever.
But, let us take your argument for sake of argument and thse illegals get eligible to vote - say 14 mill or so...of which about 7 or 8 million may be of voting age.
Little over 130 million popular votes were cast in 2008 elections - one of the highest turnouts in decades. You have 20% hardcore on either side that won't budge from their party no matter waht. Which leaves about 60% voters that can be swayed. That's roughly 70 million voters who'd be pissed and vote against Obama if he grants amnesty. And I belive many who are not registered yet will come out and register in droves to express their opposition. Just to gain 7 or 8 million Hispanic votes? I don't think Obama got to White House by following such an equation.
Again, I believe the right is mad that their talking points are not getting traction and resorting to all kinds of hyperbole and cooked-up lies and hypotheticals.

too bad the wisdom of our forefathers has been lost.

Just a small example of how our Latino friends to the south have helped themselves to this country and how they want all of America to end up. Not a very good example for them to present to us, to convince us of how they can improve our state of affairs.
Notice how the city officials are running things.....nicccce.
Bringing in more crime and illiteracy is the recipe for a failed country. They want to do for us, what they have done for Mexico?
NO THANKS!
