Why would they put a wife beater in prison for 5 years- and think he should be in a minimum security prison?

What? Because it was just his wife he brutalized-then he isn't a threat?

Well, guess what. Obviously he does not have the mental capacity to accept his punishment.

That makes him even more of a dangerous person, don't you think?

No offense-but I really wonder what the point of the prison referral system (at the beginning of each persons incarceration) is really good for: or just how effectively they are evaluating these guys- when you hear someone convicted for beating another human being, is in a minimum security prison.

Odd.

Anyway, its on the news10.net site. The story hasn't hit kcra or cbs13, yet.

I am still in shock. I haven't seen him in 13 years nor even heard about him.

I thought that maybe it was another Zach. Nope...saw the picture, it's him. Unfortunately, his run-ins with the law have been lengthy, due to drug use. Magically which started from alcohol and marajuana use in junior high and thus why my crush on him ended.

how do you just walk away from Folsom Prison? I remember about 25 years ago when a friend's husband was teaching vocational horticulture to some low-risk prisoners on the grounds. He slipped away from the work party, but he wasn't outside the perimeter. I'm pretty sure they caught him within a month, but still....its rare and that's just wierd.

be careful along Lake Natoma and on the trails. He'll go to cover and that is a natural corridor down to Sacramento.

not sure if serious.....

no, that's how they get here smile.gif

he's going in to be in prison clothes, so until he can change, he's going to stay covered. unless he's been planning this and some one either met him or stashed a change of clothes somewhere for him.

I just do not understand his thought process in all of this. He was about 18 months from parole and lately they have been paroling people by the boat loads. He has added some extra time to his sentence...so stupid! So sad what drugs will do...warped brain!

two things, the pic you can't see looks like a pear with a mouth saying "LOL WUT", I'm not sure it makes any sense.

two, many people in prison are pretty stupid, I remember it was a few years ago a couple of inmates escaped, went and either bought or stole a bottle of vodka, and got caught trying to break back into jail. they had 3 months left on their sentences, but partying that night was their priority. I forget what the additional sentencing was for their efforts, but it wasn't a very smart decision.

so, any updates on this, have they caught the scum?, or should I sleep with a loaded gun tonight?, it's been years since I last curled up with a nice cold M-16 in a sleeping bag. biggrin.gif
I would rather be Backpacking

Must have been very odd to see his face on the news.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

It's funny, but over the years I've seen a few people I've known personally on the news.
two of them were on "Call Curtis" (different episodes)
one of them was in prison on a special news report on dental hygeine in the prison system (his teeth were real bad long before he became an inmate).
Another was found by Search & Rescue, they didn't need S&R to find them, they were finding their way back out of the snow on their quad runners, but they had been a little lost so were late getting out and worried spouses had called out the posse already.

In the news a few weeks ago-an article ran a story about a guy who took off-during the confusion, after a fire statred.

The author of that article said it is an automatic 5 year minimum for escaping prison.

Its where wife beaters should be. Indefinitely in jail.

Hope he gets picked up soon.
