Went to Icing on the Cupcake and although the cupcakes are pretty, they're nothing you can't make at home. And at $2.50 to $2.75 each, it's gonna be a very rare treat.

I took the kids to gamestop yesterday and noticed Icing on the Cupcake was open. They had sample bites to try. I tried the carrot cake and bought a red velvet. Both were delicious my daughter had a vanilla and she really loved hers and she can't wait to go back. The cupcakes are large and only 2.75-$3.00. The employees were very nice and friendly.

Tried Icing on the Cupcake yesterday and I wasn't impressed. They were not very moist and had way too much icing. I bought 3 (red velvet, chocolate and Caramel apple) and ate 2 of them yesterday just to make sure! I'll have the third when I get home today because I like to be thorough! I might try them one more time to see if maybe the cupcakes were stale that day....and they have one called Maple Bacon that intrigues me!

They do offer a free cupcake if you bring your 4pk, 6pk, or 12pk back on your next visit which is very cool.

I always hear people say you should try to find a job doing what you are passionate about....are there any Cupcake Tester jobs out there? That would be awesome!

Icing on the Cupcake is on East Bidwell/Broadstone next to GameStop. The other is on Riley...looks like it might be across the street from the Aquatic Center.

I am going to go to Cupcake Craving after work today and do some taste testing. Yummm!

Tried Icing on the Cupcake on Saturday and really liked it. Went with a group and we sampled six different flavors: chocolate, red velvet, lemon, chocolate peanut butter, coconut, and chocolate mint. All were really good, but the chocolate peanut butter was to die for! The other two favorites were the red velvet and lemon. The coconut was the least favorite in our group. Of course, at $2.75 each, this is an "every once in a while" treat.

I doubt many of these cupcake places will be around in a couple of years once this whole fad passes... Never really been a fan of cupcakes or cake in general.

yeah, I thought the same thing about the cut-fruit "flower" arrangements concept but they appear to be still going strong.

I see cupcakes as a treat and/or a nice little thank you gift for someone. (especially if the companies have nice presentation boxes).
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

Cupcakes in Folsom?

INCONCEIVABLE!

There's another cupcake place going in where the Peach Pit used to be. From what I hear, this one will make all of their cupcakes from scratch, and will have a selection of gluten-free cupcakes as well.

Another one? All these yogurt and cupcake places are just a passing fad. I don't see them lasting very long, especially when there are too many.

I have tried both Icing on the Cupcake and Cupcake Craving. Icing on the Cupcake is very nice and shiny inside. The cupcakes are too sweet for my taste however. Do not care for their icing at all.
Cupcake Craving isn't as fancy inside but I think their cupcakes win over Icing on the Cupcake in taste big time.

Really three cupcake joints in Folsom.. is this really needed..

I too agree just a fad that will not last especially for a cup cake that cost $2.50 each.
