Well, after backpacking this weekend, I waddled to my most comfortable car with an automatic transmission to drive to work today. I definitely ain't getting any younger.

Yesterday, 34 miles from Sac Amtrak station home on the ARP, including a side trip to watch the E Bidwell Bike Ped bridge get erected (I gave up on the third span at 1:15 am as they decided they needed to reposition the crane). Love the ARP at sunset: 1 bat; 1 owl; 2 jack rabbits, 2 quail; 4 deer (including 1 buck); 4 cotton tails; 5 turkeys (mom and 4 kids) and lots of noises in the bushes.
Today, back to the grind - the daily 10-mile round trip bike commute to work (I noticed spider webs on my car parked in the street this morning - time to sweep or move it before they ticket it for being abandoned).

That is great Mike!
I was at the office until about 7:00 last night, so I got started later but managed to get in 17 miles in the Parkway/Empire Ranch area doing a couple of loops. Hopefully I 'll get out earlier tonight and shoot for 20 miles!
Keep up the good work!

What type of bike are you riding? I have a Fisher Hybrid and am just getting back into ridng again after being lazy all spring. I can't generate that type of speed right now, maybe in a few weeks I'll be going faster.

Road Bike. Not a high end, $10k race bike, but it is very nice nonetheless.

That would be almost a 2 hour ride for me.
