Goodfellas had decided to venture into a new direction, one that I am very passionate about-Kids. We are now working with local private schools and bringing in "Healthy Lunches" to the schools. We team up with schools and deliver hot HEALTHY lunches on a daily basis. To learn more check out my website at goodfellas4kids.com Thanks, George

Is it just something with my browser or does that site not let you do ANYTHING without registering first? It would be nice to browse the menus and get some information about the program without registering. I couldn't even get to the generic "Contact", "About", "Privacy", etc. pages.

Great idea and I commed you for this. I'm sure you know about Jamie Oliver's attempt at overhauling the lunchmenus in the south and all the resistance he got.
Here's my $.02:

I was a 1st/2nd grade teacher for 6 years. Kids would be given a lunch that consisted of a main course + healthy side dish. Less that 10% actaully ate the healthy side dish.

What I found was that if the option to consume an unhealthy main course (i.e. fried chicken patty sandwich) was removed, their choices got a whole lot healthier.

Your menus look really good - I saw the stir fry, garden sandwich etc. that really make an attempt to pack in nutrition into the main couse. I like the baked option (not fried) and the whole wheat options. I really like the vegetarian options.

The only thing I struggle with your menu, and indeed in my life overall and have no idea how to fix, is how to remove all the processed grains from the diet. All the pastas and breads and tortillas...it's too much. I don't think you need bread/pasta etc. every day. In my case, I don't have any really good ideas, but thought I'd just mention that as "food for thought" (Har de har har) in case anyone else does. smile.gif

Good luck in your endevours! If I had a kid I would totally sign up. Way better than anything I've seen in any public school I've worked at.

From what's been discussed here this sounds like a great idea. FWIW, I never register with websites just to review their info if those registrations request my real name, address, phone number, etc. -- and I know I'm not alone. There should be a way for prospective customers to give your site a once over without all of that info. Once they choose to do business with you -- well that's a whole other thing. Just one woman's opinion. Good luck!

Great Feedback, We plan to start slow and not "shock" the kids but I agree with you regarding the processed grains! Thanks 4 the support!

George, I applaud your efforts but I must admit that I cringe that some tykes will have the fantastic opportunity to sample your outstanding! Bolognese Sauce and those of us whom might have a perhaps more sould I say refined taste not be able to enjoy it!!! hehe only kidding of course. By the way.... don't worry about the self appointed (Food Police)... LOL not kidding with that line... Just keep focused and do what your heart and mind tell you what's right.... P.S. PM me so I can get some of your Bolognese... thanks...
