For those of us who are gluten free, sometimes it takes a long time for the new product information/locations to make it through the grapevine. You'd think the manufacturers and stores would advertise at least a little bit because we're kind of a captive audience. But they haven't caught on to that part yet. So lets post something here when we see it around town. Here's what I've seen lately.

- Gluten Free Bisquick at Bel Air. In the regular baking aisle by the regular Bisquick. It's a smaller box that is cream-colored with orange accents. Haven't tried it yet, but bought a box. Hoping it's at least as good as Pamela's.

- Target! TONS of gluten free stuff in their new food section. They're putting the gluten free products in each section with the regular food, rather than having a gluten free section. I saw the Betty Crocker mixes, a bunch of Namaste mixes, Kinnikinnick cookies and graham crackers, Sans Gluten Free cookies, Glutino crackers, San-J gluten free tamari (just like soy sauce), etc.

- I went to Manderes a couple months ago and had a great response when I asked about gluten free. The owner came out and talked to me to make sure he understood what he needed to do and what I could eat. I had a shrimp dish with rice and a lemon butter sauce. Sooo goood....

- Hacienda's chips and salsa are GF. They fry their chips and french fries in separate oil from their other fried foods. I was getting their shrimp al mojo de ajo but they took it off the menu. The last time I went I called ahead and they were nice enough to do a chicken mojo for me. :)

While we're at it, let's do a roll-call. Who here is gluten free, and how many in your family are?

At our house we've got my two kids (ages 6 and 8) and myself. My husband is gluten free at home, but eats gluten otherwise.

Mandares was also very accomodating for my family.

Have you tried the new peanut flour at Trader Joe's? I am going to try it in several dishes this weekend.

I saw that BJ's has a gluten-free pizza. It looked really good.

One person in our family that is on the gluten free diet. Loves the Kinnikinnick gluten free doughnuts...only found so far at Raleys on Blue Ravine/E. Natomas. Not in gluten free section though. Comes in Cinnamon Sugar and Chocolate. I have tried....both taste REAL good!!

Favorite place for gluten free though is Anza Gluten just up the hill in El Dorado Hills. Have scones, cinnamon rolls, cakes, brownies, and all kinds of wonderful treats to eat that are ALL gluten free.

Always looking for new things though that the whole family can eat too.

There's a gluten-free boxed risotto mix Raley's sells that my family really likes even though we don't have to be gluten-free. Can't think of the brand name right now. It's in the organic/health food section.
