Last night my wife and helped out at the Folsom Zoo Benefit event at Rogers Jewelery pouring Lockdown Brewery beer samples for thirsty adult tasters, it was a good time.

There were a lots of people there over the course of the night including myfolsomites John and Erika and we met Mayor Starsky and his wife too, it was a pretty good turn out with a great raffle fundraiser that had some outstanding prizes.

Here's a few photos, they're not great but will give you a general idea of what the event was like.

Thanks so much Dave, loved trying the Lockdown beers. It was a great night and just wanted to thank everyone who came by. Sorry for folks who were hoping for the promised face painting. The face painter showed up without her paints or her airbrush(!) She apprently lives an hour and a half away so that unfortunately was a bust, but otherwise I think everyone had a fun night and I can also say that as a fundraiser it was quite successful.

Davburr --So that was you who was pouring Lockdown. Now I have a face to put to the name. :D:
I really liked how this fundraiser was done. One could casually drop by, check out the animals (I always love the raptors--the barn owl was great. Enjoyed the other animals as well. The snake was beautiful. Yes, I know, a lot of people, including my husband are unable to see the beauty in snakes. ), buy a few raffle tickets, check out the exhibits, have a beer or wine taste, and check out the jewelry etc.
Sometimes I feel awkward or uncomfortable about going to a fundraiser because I'm not part of the particular organization or group that is putting it on. However, since this was outdoors in a parking lot, conveniently located, and earlier in the evening, we could drop by for a while in between running an errand at Raley's and going to a party on the other side of the County. Perfect!
