As I was driving to work (around 8am) this morning, I spotted a coyote at Blue Ravine and Arrowsmith in Briggs Ranch.. Coyote was 15 feet from curb, watching traffic go by. It didn't look spooked and I'm was surprised that nocturnal animal is down low, hanging out in daylight hours.

Was it hungry, thirsty or sick? I dunno.

Anybody else seeing coyotes in the neighborhood?

yeah, about a couple of weeks ago we were coming home about 9pm and I saw a coyote near the corner of Broadstone Pkwy and Golf Links......It was standing on the sidewalk watching us drive by-- I think he was deciding if he should cross the steet or not.

Saw one on my morning run off the bike trail behind Raleys. Kinda just standing there watching the sunrise.

Not sick - pretty typical behavior in late summer/early fall. Coming down for water and our tasty little kitties...
Cheeky little devils aren't they? :D:

In Natoma Station, coming home late at 1am awhile back there was 4 that were cutting across Natoma Station Dr. from the school into the bushes next to the apartments. I caught them in my headlights and they just froze for a moment then ran.

I saw one crossing Broadstone at Iron Point. My wife and daughter spotted 2 of them near Rebecca and Hancock. My siter-in-law's cat was killed, presumably, by coyotes.

I called the local coyote expert but got his voicemail and he never called back.

Saw one trotting down the bike trail along Waldon going toward Clarksville at about 11AM a while ago. I think all this wild life is pretty cool and hope nothing is done about it till they actually do pose a risk.... but not when it's too late!

Just a few days ago an adult Falcon landed on my neighbors car roof and watched my 3 y/o and I play in the front yard. We stopped and watched it as it flew off into the top of a near by tree then swooped down right over our heads and disappeared over the roof of our house.

Saw one yesterday crossing the street. Saw one a couple of years ago who would just trot down the street in the morning. Saw him often. It was near the prison grounds and I think he just came and went for the easy food.

Coyote sighting used to be a lot more common here, but the more the housing developments expand, the farther out they are pushed. I remember seeing packs of coyotes here as recently as 10 years ago...

every now and then when the nights are warm we'll hear packs of coyotes howling at the moon in the middle of the night.

That's possible, but then again, it might be my wife & me.

Although the moon usually doesn't get me going, but if I hear a siren off in the distance, I quite often answer back. I even howled one night when I could hear a dog off in the distance that sounded like it was crying from pain, but maybe it was crying cuz it got locked out.

C'mon, TruthSeeker, play nice with Malamute. "Truth" is, Malamute is a dog. Listen closely and you may hear my beagles howl at the moon, a siren, or other dogs as well, but most likely squirrels.
