The Folsom Zoo has a new Cougar Cub.



There is also a poll to determine a Naming Poll on the front page of the Friends of the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary Website. The candidate names are: Cedar, Emma, Lily, Lea, and Penelope.

It is hoped the young cub will be available for the public to view within the next few weeks. The cougar comes from the Department of Fish and Game after she was confiscated from someone keeping her illegally. She was dehydrated, underweight and suffering frm other maladies, but otherwise seemed to be in good health.

I voted on her name. I liked Cedar.

Glad to know she was rescued from people that obviously weren't providing proper care.

She is absolutely beautiful. I voted for Lea, but I think Cedar and Penelope are cute names too. Look forward to seeing her at the zoo.

Heh, we have jokingly said we should have a "Cougar" fund raiser...if you know what I mean.

I voted for Penelope, but she looks like a Fiona or Matilda. So very cute.

I'm sure she will get great care at the zoo, but it's too bad the poor thing couldn't have been left with the mother to grow up in the wild.
