Nothing like a good storm. I love it. We have already pulled a patio chair out of the pool - any other casualties?

No casualties at my work, power hasn't even flickered. Darn!!!

We are getting pelted, occasionally hear some distant thunder. But nothing to warrant leaving work early. :(

Silly man. You entitle this thread "Nasty Weather" and then went on to say you love it. :) I truly love this weather :cheer: and would never reference it as nasty. :2thumbsup:

I've been watching the birds at the feeders in the back yard. We have a finch feeder with two socks and those socks have been flapping in the wind all day, and at some points they're parallel with the ground -- WITH FINCHES SWAYING AND DINING. It's hysterical.

I had a meeting with a client this morning and am happy to report my hairspray held all of my hairs in place, even though the wind blew my umbrella inside out and my hair wasn't protected. :lmaosmiley:

I loved the hail storm yesterday.

Love the weather from inside the house. Don't like finding out the roof leak we thought was fixed last year apparently wasn't fixed good enough:(

OK, my boss lives in EDH, his girlfriend just called, his frontyard Oak tree fell over and at a minimum knocked down his rain gutter. He won't know for sure on roof damage until he gets home to inspect it. Co-workers are already offering to cut-up the tree for the wood for him.

Nothing so far. I've lost 2 trees in recent years though.

My wife and daughters have been sick, and I've been dodging it. It finally hit me last night.

It's now falling as white stuff outside my work.
Elevation here is 1500 ft. Ground is too wet, so it's melting as soon as it hits.

so jealous Bill! Would love to see some snow. I am loving this rain and wind (as long as the power stays on, then I will curse it ;). We need the rain so badly and it's th perfect week for this to hit as I'm housebound anyway! Makes it much easier to handle having to stay inside! My son not so much, he's two and is dying to get out there and play!

Well, I just spent the last half hour with a neighbor securing fencing on the side of our house that the wind almost totally blew down. Now I'm cold and the hair spray finally failed. :lmaosmiley:

Was on the way home and saw quite a wonderful sight- first I saw hundreds if not thousands of stark white seagulls milling around ( not flying to or from) against a slate dark gray sky and then a rainbow appeared below them ... I wish I had a good camera to catch it all- as my cell phone just could not do it justice. I pulled over to watch it for a few minutes... Made my day !

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Deb B,

Inquiring minds would like to know the name of that hairspray. I was out showing homes in Rocklin and Natomas today. It wasn't long before I had a
real "wet windblown" look going on.

The drive from Rocklin to Natomas was crazy with the wind, driving rain and goof balls passing at an unsafe speed.

Our feeders were blowing in the wind today too. We had over 120 birds at one time, mostly finches and sparrows.

The NWS is reporting that Middletown, CA received nearly TWO FEET of snow at an elevation of 1,000 feet today. If they kept track of records there, that would like smash all of them.
