2 Possible Sightings Of Our Lost Chihuaha At Sheldon Park!

We've now gotten two calls in response to our flyers from people who've seen a dog that looks similar to ours at Sheldon Park. The last person saw the dog, off leash, headed down the cement path toward Ballast Way. We've gone out there as soon as we've gotten both calls, and we've been checking back daily, but haven't seen anything so far. If any of you live in that area, or go to that park, would you mind keeping an eye out and calling us if you see a dog that looks even remotely like ours? He's a reddish brown chihuahua mix, about 10 lbs. I've posted pictures on my other posts on this forum. He's shy, so he probably won't come to you if you call him, but if you call my cell my husband or I will try to come right away to take a look.
I know a lot of people let their dogs off leash at that park, so there's a good chance this dog belongs to someone else, but since neither person saw an owner near this dog, we figure it's worth checking out. I have no idea how he'd be surviving (maybe eating cat food for outside neighborhood cats?), or why he wouldn't find his way home since we don't live too far from there, but you never know.
Thank you!

I live right around here and know just about everyone who lives on Ballast; I'll keep an eye out and will tell others as I can.
Thank you so much!

I saw an article in the sac bee about a dog that is trained to sniff out missing dogs. I wonder if that is true? That would be pretty awesome to find your dog that way instead of waiting by the phone.
Believe it or not, we've tried that (I'm telling you, we're desperate). It's pretty expensive and I'm not sure if I believe that it's legit or not. The lady's dog walked down Turn Pike towards Natoma Station Dr. and then she told us to put more flyers up in that direction. I called her again after the first person thought they saw our dog, and she told me it was unlikely that her dog would just walk up to our dog, so I'm hesitant to pay her to tell us to do what we're already doing. If she'd sounded more confident that she'd actually find our dog, I probably would've talked my husband into having her look again (he's more skeptical than I am about it). Thanks for the tip though!
