Hello 3rd world! Goodbye America. Sometimes small things like this, really paint a much bigger picture. OUr parks can't afford 1ply tp, yikes! So, how the hell are you gonna afford healthcare, military and infrastructure? America is really goin' down the toilet, lol! However, the city can afford to spend millions on the downtown "makeover" which hasn't brought in any significant biz after all of teh money spent. Most of the development that has positively impacted Folsom, is not even on that side of town. Do we really need another nick knack store or a cupcake store or chocolatier in Folsom? How about another Intel?

I guess it's either have change on you for the vending machines or BYOTP, or remember the "leaves of three, let them be" mantra for emergency situations.

Let's see, if they would cut the Police Chiefs' compensation by 15% there would probably be enough money to buy enough TP each year for all the parks(about $46K). That would leave him at about $260K in compensation which would seem to be more than enough. Unfortunately they tend to cut where it doesn't hurt the people in charge.

In an effort to quell budget cuts, the Folsom Parks and Recreation Department is employing a number of cost cutting measures. Toilet paper is now being removed from all park restrooms and is being replaced by tissue-pack vending machines.

Actually, if this were real it wouldn't make a difference. I used to work at a regional park in San Bernardino County. People would crap everywhere but the toilet. Sometimes it would get smeared on walls. I've even seen this in a public park restroom in Hawaii. So having TP for some doesn't matter anyway.

This really isn't that far-fetched. We received an email last week about the fees for parks and rec programs going up significantly. It sounds like the new budget is filled with increased fees and cost cuts everywhere except, I presume, leadership income and anything that negatively affects a developer. I wouldn't be surprised if they start closing park restrooms or putting a TP vending machine in them.
