At Hazelet’s Organic Lawn Care, we approach lawn care a bit differently than other companies. We do Organic Lawn Care. We believe that the soil-life must be nourished and not punished with acidic fertilizers or toxic chemicals

THE DANGERS OF GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!
VIDEO THAT EXPLAINS THE NEW DANGEROUS THREAT OF ROUND-UP FROM HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF TONS OF HERBICIDE SPRAY FROM THE GMO AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY THAT ARE POLLUTING ALL OF THE WATER AND SOIL IN THE THE UNITED STATES WITH THIS FERTILITY DAMAGING CHEMICAL. THIS IS WHY WE DON’T USE ROUND-UP!!

HOW DO WE ACCOMPLISH GOOD LAWN CARE BY NOT USING CHEMICALS SUCH AS 2, 4-D AND ROUND-UP?

FIRST FEED THE SOIL
Many of our visits include an application of Compost Tea which is full of beneficial microorganisms which work synergistically with the grass, plants and the soil. This in turn will help reduce the need to apply fertilizer on the lawn as these microorganisms unlock stored nutrients in the soil to feed your lawn. Instead of chemical fertilizers, we use organic natural fertilizers to feed your soil and the grass and plants growing in it!
Chemical fertilizers are water soluble and leach out of your yard into the gutters then the streams, rivers, and eventually – the Delta. WE ELIMINATE CHEMICAL FERTILIZER USAGE AND STREAM POLLUTION!

We offer an ORGANIC FERTILIZING AND PLANT HEALTH PROGRAM, custom designed to suit your needs, and in addition to the LAWN CARE (weekly mowing) SERVICE,

SERVING: FOLSOM, CA

I checked out your website but did not see any prices listed. Can you give us an idea of the cost for your services? Thanks

I offer a free on site evaluation of your lawn and garden areas to determine the needs. I customize the treatment based on the needs of your yard and the seasonal factors. To give you a general idea, I charge $14.95 per 1,000 sq ft for the Compost Tea application. In May, the seasonal factor is the warm weather is causing a boom in the insect population so I add some botanical extracts and plant essential oils to reduce the pest pressure. Your lawn will have less bugs munching on them and you will too! Adding this to my mix brings the price up to $23.50 per 1,000 sq ft. So if you have a small yard of about 2,000 sq ft, it would have cost $29.90 for April (compost tea only) and cost $47.00 for May with the essential oils added. Most yards are recommended to be done 8 to 10 times per year. When I give a recommendation for a yard, you will have a chart of each month's treatment and price plus the option to have a fixed monthly price for the year.

I also offer weekly lawn care (mowing) if you are interested.

How much would weekly lawn care for a small (2000ish sq ft) yard run? Would you use my push mower (http://www.amazon.co...edir_mdp_mobile) so as to not spread weeds or use power?

I need to check out the property to give a quote on Lawn Care. I only do full service, every week professional lawn care. I use my own equipment and I hose off the mower after each job and spray with disinfectant to avoid spreading weed seeds and diseases. Please see the page on my website about my "lawn care standards" for more info, heres the link: http://hazeletsorgan...care-standards/

Email or call me for an estimate.

Isn't a lawn by definition, an un-natural ecosystem?

Isn't a lawn by definition, an un-natural ecosystem?

Yes it is! Nature alone would provide a yard of grasses and plants like you see in Prairie City! and your house would be made of bark, sod or reeds. Too many of today's lawns are a mono-culture of one turf species such as Fescue, Rye or Bermuda.

I perfer a more "natural" lawn with several turf species like Bluegrass, Perennial Rye, Bent grass, and fine Fescues. Each of these will be more or less dominate in your lawn depending on the conditions, ie: bent grass and Blue grass will do better in the shady areas, Fescues will do better in the high traffic areas and compacted soils. Some people think I am a nut, but I like a little Dichondra and Clovers in my lawn!(bonus, they add nitrogen to the soil).

If your going to have a lawn, what would you prefer - A) a monoculture of turfgrass that requires regular applications of synthetic chemicals NPK to keep it green, and 2,4D and other herbicides to keep "weeds" out. or B) a naturalized blend of turf grasses and maybe a little clover, growing in healthy soil that can adapt to the conditions and thrive.

By the way, my compost tea applications offer only trace amounts of NPK so is not really a fertilzer, but it is teeming with live microbes that colonize in the soil and naturally help break down the macro (NPK) and micro nutrients that are already in the soil and make them available to the plants. Compost tea feeds the soil which results in healthier lawns, mono-culture or not!
