Trying to get a sense of what is a reasonable amount.

Specialized Pest just told me $79 every other month.

I think that sounds pretty normal... we were paying $75 every 3 months. Seems like it's about 75ish per each scheduled service.

$68 every other month with Jones Bros.

I was paying about $60 or $65 every other month with APEX Pest Control for the house perimeter (inside as requested). I'm now paying $79 every 3 months with Terminix (was a different name when I signed-up and were recently purchased by Terminix). They do the house perimeter, yard perimeter, and spot placement of granules in the yard near trouble areas.

I've been using Specialized for about a year and a half now and have been pleased with their service. We pay $75.00 every two months.

We pay $70 every other month with Golden Bear. I think they base the price on your house's footprint. We had Jones Bros at our last house, but when we moved, the price went way up (bigger house). We ended up switching to Golden Bear because they were cheaper.

As a point of reference, we have a 2900 sq foot single-story.

I was just quoted $79 every 2 months for a 3,000 sf house. Sounds like that's in the range of normal.

I have long wondered why so many people have pest control contracts and pay as much as $35 per month on them. My annual expenditure is less than $10 and likely less for a jug of Home Defense which i use on the perimeter of the house and around window and door frames and occasionally for hot spots of ants if I need to be in the space that they are using. I brush my eves often as well but that takes about 5 minutes every month or less.

I can likely see 10,000 ant on any given day , but they do not bother me nor do most of the spiders in our yard and rarely do any get inside. If they do- I either use some spray or a tissue to eliminate them...

A yard perimeter spray by a service does not really do much as the critters just move to the center of the yard and for flying insects the service does absolutely nothing...

Plus, indiscriminate spraying also kills the good bugs....
