Well - it had to happen sometime as Farley and I age (74 and 58). He cannot help in the yard at all anymore due to his physical limitations and some things are getting harder for me to handle due to my back so we hired a Gardener last week.

They have been doing our Neighbors house for 3 years and recently started with two other neighbors so we thought they might be able to help out at our place.

They are doing the other 3 houses for around $50 per month with weekly service (cost base is variable based on size of yards and work to be done) and while we have the same base rate, our yards are non conventional so they adjust the price per visit depending on what they do and how long it takes.

Last week it was 2-3 guys ( family affair) for almost an hour of trimming and blowing and raking the front and mowing our small lawn in the back and it was $20 .

We will give them a list each week of what we want done ( Blow the 1/3 acre back yard, trim the bushes, take out a large bush , mow the lawn , trim and cut back years worth of climbing lady banks dead bramble, etc) and they will do what is needed.

Whether you have a conventional yard or special things to be done , they are good at what they do and they are very well priced.

I don't need a weekly service but I'd love to have someone trim my bushes and trees properly next spring! Do they do once or twice a year jobs? :P

I am pretty sure they will do that type of job. Ours is basically an ad hoc week by week with special stuff to do each week.

I will check with them tomorrow and will update -but feel free to call him and ask.

Well priced? Understate much?

According to my calculator, $7/hr/person is a steal.

Thank you, Folsom500 for posting this. Kevin came by today and I told him that his quote was totally insane and that he would be receiving a VERY big tip for cleaning up our backyard. He'll be here on Friday to take care of this "mess" in our backyard. Thanks again for the referral. I will definitely be referring him to folks around here. Leenda

Kevin and coworker came today and did a fantastic job. He quoted us $50.00, but we gave him a lot more. Well worth it. Nice guys....hire them!!!!!

Thanks Folsom500,

Add another client to Kevins list. He came by and gave us a quote today for one time cleanup and monthly service. Hired him on the spot.

I realize this is an old thread, but is Kevin still in business?  I tried calling the number, and I was unsuccessful finding any updated contact information online.

If Kevin is no longer in the yard service business, I would really appreciate some recommendations for someone who can do a yard clean-up project for me.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with finding a reliable yard work crew!   :)

Although I do not know for sure, but I  think Kevin is no longer working in the area.   I had stopped his service a while ago due to my Farley' Illness but I had also noticed that he stopped servicing a few other yards on my street.

Darn... that's what I was afraid of.  Thank you so much for getting back to me; I really appreciate it and hoping I can find a good crew to help us out soon.
