Since Jitter's has closed down, just wondering if a coffee shop will be opening up in old town?

I read last week that Chicago Fire will be taking over the Jitters locations and building additional indoor and outdoor seating. There is at least one other coffee shop type place that is located in the back of the Art Gallery that has Thomas Kincade paintings. I went there at the last Friday Night Art Walk and they had really good free desserts. I'm not sure if the Friday Night Art Walk is a regular event each month, if so it gets very little publicity...

Yeah, it sure looks like Chicago Fire is taking the space.. perhaps they'll have some room to add to the 4 seats currently at their 'wine bar'.
I also see there's a new Balcony restaraunt opening up where Balcony Cafe previously was! yippee, more food for us!

Yep, that's what this town needs . . . another coffee shop!
Actually, I think it would be a good shop to have on Sutter. Maybe all of Stevethedad's rednecks down there can stop by for a cup of coffee to sober up.

A coffee shop would be good to have there but I don't see it succeeding as a business. Not enough foot traffic IMO.

What Old Town really needs is a small grocery store. It would be so wonderful to be able to walk to somplace close to get eggs and milk. I can walk to Raley's, but the walk back kills me!

As recently as the mid-80s, there was the C&C (Cash and Carry) Market on Sutter Street near Reading. It's now the Kensington Homes office.

20 years ago isn't "recent"

considering that they are putting in condo's soon right off Sutter Street, i'm sure your small market won't be far behind....

ha!
actually, the more i think about it, it WOULD be nice to have a Nugget Market in this area. maybe a smaller version could be built near Sutter for all of the people that might buy into condo's there...... (*keeps dreaming*)
