Obama, DNC Suing Ohio Over Military Early Voting Law
The Obama re-election campaign, along with the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in Ohio to strike down part of that state's law regarding military voting, Breitbart.com reported Thursday.
"Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election," Mike Flynn wrote. Military members, he added, are "given three extra days to do so."
Flynn says he thinks the extra time is "entirely reasonable given the demands on servicemen and women's time and their obligations to their sworn duty."
But it seems that Democrats view the rule as "arbitrary" with "no discernible rational basis."
"It's a chilling notion that we should be opposed to those voting in the final three days because they may or may not vote on our side of the issues," said Ohio Democratic Party chairman Chris Redfern.
DNC political director Patrick Gaspard called the rule "a cynical ploy."
"In Obama for America v. Husted, the complaint alleges that distinction between military and nonmilitary voters violates the equal protection clause of the federal constitution," Politico reported.
But Flynn disagrees, and says the lawsuit is intended to "disenfranchise some unknown number of military voters," citing the National Defense Committee:
"[F]or each of the last three years, the Department of Defense’s Federal Voting Assistance Program has reported to the President and the Congress that the number one reason for military voter disenfranchisement is inadequate time to successfully vote.
"If anyone proposes legislation to combat voter fraud, Democrats will loudly scream that the proposal could 'disenfranchise some voter, somewhere. We must ensure, they argue, that voting is easy and accessible to every single voter," Flynn wrote.
"Every voter, that is, except the men and women of our military."
A May Gallup poll indicated that 58 percent of veterans prefer Mitt Romney, compared to 34 percent who support Barack Obama, and a Military Times poll found that 44.3 percent of service members do not approve of Obama's job performance.
Almost 39 percent of those polled considered themselves conservative, while 37 percent called themselves moderate. Only 6.72 percent identified themselves as liberal, and 1.39 percent said they were "very liberal."

For those who don't know, miitary commanders of guard and reserve can hold you 24 hours past your orders without new orders being established. The orders must be approved by finance office, the commander, the state commander, and the governors office.
So, how do you think half a million votes on an elction day can be swayed in the US?
So, Active duty soldiers are given the 3 day rule as well...if they are overseas, in hostile territory or in certain theatres of operations where electoral administration would take a longer time to count, or safely retrieve back to the US soil. ( Pretty much outside the US or any soldier not in their home state).
So, how can you affect 600,000 more votes?
Gee, who's great idea is this to limit soldiers voting?

Oh come on, you know by filing this lawsuit the intent is to have some court (...with a dem judge..?) put an injuction on the law just before the election. This will inhibit the military vote and cause confusion...and thus lead to less voting of individuals who are most likely not to vote democrat. After the election nobody will care and the suit will be retracted. And tell me that Ohio is not the perfect state to do this with the margins so close. This is not an accident or a lawsuit of good intentions. This is dirty politics to the core. The only good thing here is the press is doing it's job for a change and the dems really look bad here. ChrisLet's get the facts straight on this. The DNC is not trying to limit military voting in any way. They are trying to extend to all other voters the same voting rights as the military have in Ohio.

So you're right, the dems aren't trying to limit voting in any way, they are trying to increase it by turning a blind eye to voter fraud, and illegals voting.
BUT, if you honorably serve your country (and those who do tend to vote republican), your ballots are conveniently lost, mishandled or never delivered. From the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) Report,
Findings of the UOCAVA Survey:
At least 992,034 UOCAVA ballots were requested
Slightly more than 330,000 ballots were cast or counted
More than 70 percent of all UOCAVA ballots reported not counted was because these ballots were returned to local election offices as undeliverable
So 460,000 ballots were marked undeliverable? Something fishy about that methinks...
