I came home tonight and found a lost dog (empire ranch).

It is brown, has on a pink colored collar that's too big for it, no tags. Looks like it has something in its right eye.

None of the local animal shelters or hospitals can take the dog, and we are keeping it in our backyard overnight unless someone would be able to help out. Thanks

Yes. No answer. Sac county and sac city SPCA wouldn't take it in. Nor would any 24 hr vet hospital, rescue shelter, or any of the other 15 numbers I called.

I must say it was rather disappointing when they told me to "let the dog go" since they couldn't help us out.

Found the owner

If you have pets, keep tags on em even if they are microchipped. Would've been nice to have a number we could've called saying we found the dog

I'm glad the owner was finally found. How did you locate him/her?

They live 4 houses down from us, and heard the dog barking in our backyard. The husband said he saw the puppy in their yard at midnight, however it came running up to my car when I got home around 10.15pm last night.

Again, a tag on the collar could've made it less stressful for them since we could've called saying we found their dog.
