Ewwww, don't go there! Go to Natoma Station! ;)

(Personal banter between Notsure and me. This post doesn't represent the school accurately.)

I do know that, like NSE, 6th is an option at the elementary school.

My children went to that school a couple of years ago and the only reason I took them out is because the class sizes kept increasing and they focused a lot on Accelerated Reader, which is supposed to be an optional program. My son had such a hard time making the end-of-the-year party that it literally put him in tears. I want my kids to love reading, not focus on the amount of points they get for reading. Maybe it was just our teacher that put a lot of focus on all of her class to be eligible for the party.

One of the 2nd grade teachers there is by far the best teacher my kids have ever had!! She has a true gift for teaching.

It's not a bad school, or at least it wasn't when my kids went there. We just decided to do something different with their education.

My son had her also, Miss Larrick. INCREDIBLE 12 yrs ago, we still stay in touch w/ her There are several other great teachers there, but the district really has moved admin around. Not sure about who's there now. It has been a very high performing school through the years.

Don't trust great schools...all it takes is one or two unhappy parents to write negative comments to portay an inaccurate picture about a school. Do your research, visit the school, talk to parents after school, if they are willing to, talk to the admin., etc. Great schools is a joke.

The real success at CS was the lineup of teachers. They did an amazing job of starting off exactly where the pervious teacher left off.

Since then, has been diluted by population levels and not focusing a second line-up.

The successes seem to consistently be children who who were programmed into that lineup. They are identified early on, and are placed in the class with the teacher that will help make them a strong student. I know it is the policy of staff to deny this; but ..whatever.

I saw it first hand.
