Is this topic elsewhere? I searched and couldn't find it.
I've asked our city attorney, Bruce Cline, if it's possible to obtain a copy the Letter of Objection being composed by the City of Folsom to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, along with their contacts, so we too can send it to them.
If needed, I will follow-up here.

Well, I sure hope the lack of interest isn't setting precedence here, Mather is noisy enough as is!
When ours is completed. let's all, please also send it to the Sac. Co. BOS so the noise over Folsom isn't amplified.

I would think this is a positive for our local economy.
we definately get jobs from the freight companies, like UPS, etc. It's just a matter of being sure there is concern and awareness for future noise issues when Mather is making their plans.

When a plane flies over me on its way to Mather, I tend to stop what I'm doing and watch in amazement at the beauty of the plane going over. I guess I'm in the minority. When I'm at soccer practice the kids do the same. I'm thinking we must be operating at the same mental level.I would think this is a positive for our local economy.

I think its more concern over what could happen in the future. For instance,

Agreed, but it drives me crazy when homeowners who moved into an area know there is an airport complain about the noise. My sister lives in North Natomas so there are a lot of planes flying over. She knew that when she moved in and doesn't complain. People in that area have sued over the noise. Shame on them.I think its more concern over what could happen in the future. For instance,

I know what you mean. However the OP was specifically talking about expansion plans, not present noise.

I am just as concern about the economy, but at what expense! Here's an excerpt from the article linked below:
"I was reviewing the draft EIR and the section on classroom disruption," she said. "They did the study using Oak Ridge High School and an elementary school, both in El Dorado Hills, not Folsom school sites, where the planes fly lower. We were not invited to comment so we are trying to analyze and gather a response. … It was disturbing they didn't think about Folsom schools."

LOL. I don't even notice them. I grew up 10 miles from O'Hare airport when it was the busiest airport in the world. Admittedly, my perspective is a little skewed. But my kids, too, look at them in wonder when they notice them. When a plane flies over me on its way to Mather, I tend to stop what I'm doing and watch in amazement at the beauty of the plane going over. If we want to build our local economy things have to change to order to accommodate it. Yes, we want the change to be positive and managed but we can just be NIMBYs all the time.

A major money maker that also brings much needed jobs to neighboring communities. The stuff they are doing at Mather, the business park and such, is a huge positive for Rancho. Huge. I think it's awesome.also from that Telegraph article: “We appreciate getting all the emails, but please, direct them to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors,” said Councilman Andy Morin. “Our efforts here are not to shut this facility. That’s not our intent. But we need to get it operated responsibly. … (Their) intention is to turn that facility into a major money maker at the expense of the neighboring communities.”

This is pretty important though. Great for Rancho Cordova for low-wage paying jobs. Bad possibly for OUR property values and quality of life.
