On the other hand, there are several posters that contribute little and often get personal that I find annoying, but I just pretty much ignore them. Of course, I will give what I get. If you have a thoughtful critique or analysis, awesome. If you attempt to run smack, I'm fine with that too. I would certainly never let some forumboy send me running to the mods because they "offended" me with limp smack or dared to challenge my worldview.
But that's just me...

To further clarify, the politics discussion is alienating many, many, MANY people from posting here. I love discussion, but many regulars aren't here anymore because of political rants. It's not why I created this site, and yes, we kick people out when they become a problem. Sometimes without warning. It can be flippant, yes, but I frankly don't have time to play the moderating game and watch people push the envelope.
You're the boss, and you have to do what you think best for the site.
Still, it baffles me that people stop posting because they don't like the politics section. Especially when no one is forcing them to go there. There is even a handy-dandy filter.
That's like saying, "I don't like what's on this cable channel, so I refuse to watch tv"
Just call me perplexed.

John - Is it time to take the politics section back out of the search? Those of us who enjoy that section can go there and participate, but those who don't won't be bothered with that content. To further clarify, the politics discussion is alienating many, many, MANY people from posting here.
