We went on Saturday night, which was the last night that the restaurant would be owned by Richard.  He sold it and new ownership was taking over starting September 1st. Richard said he needs to focus on 36 Handles and Relish burgerbar, both in EDH.  I thanked him for the wonderful 13plus years he's had the  Bistro. Had many memorable meals for birthdays and anniversaries. BTW my meal was fantastic and service was wonderful.  had the heirloom tomato/mozzarella, Mussels and pork belly (delicious) and of course for dessert profiteroles...yumm

According to all, most if not the whole staff including chef Wendy will stay on at Bidwell Street Bistro.

cheers.

WOW! No idea he was selling it. Glad that Wendy will remain. Any idea on the identity of the new owner?

yea, he told us he sold the place too. He did not reveal the new owner, at least not that I remember. He & my brother talked for a while; they are old friends.
Relish & Handles are doing really well. they are always crowded. I also heard they have trivia night, I think on Tuesdays at one location, and Thursday at the other.

The new owner's name is Charlie Castellano.  He's never owned restaurants before, but he has owned bakeries.  It was in The Folsom Telegraph.
