And on Saturday it's the free tour day at the Murer House. Midday there will be live accordion music and the best gelato made in northern California! Www.murerhouse.org. The calzone and focaccia class has two free spaces in the morning class too (10 to noon).

Didn't mean to jack the thread. On that note, it might be fun to have a fun weekend events regular weekly post!

On the weekend thread, I submit the following weekend activity (May 11th-12th) The EDH Art and Wine walk. One trick is to show up early and do brunch at Bistro 33 (all you can drink Mimosas on Saturday), as I think they don't start sampling wine until after noon (not sure exactly when). http://www.eldoradoh...m/schedule.html
Don't miss Bob Culbertson and his Chapman Stick if you go http://www.stickmusic.com/ Check out the mad work on While My Guitar Gently Weeps at around 2:00 If you want great wine drinking music, try his Cafe San Francisco disk. Excellent! (AJ received no compensation for these endorsements..lol)

Unfortunately, I have a conflict, but I love riding that stretch of road (even when there are cars); without cars, it will be a little slice of heaven!

Yeah, he is absolutely amazing. If you are a musician, he will either make you want to pick up your instrument and start playing...or smash it into smithereens, never to touch your fingers again. Check out his youtube videos. Everything from Little Wing to Toccata and Fugue in Dm. Straight Of Gibraltar is pretty nice as well.

Mt Aukum? The winery? Love their Malbec and their BDX is pretty good as well.

Rode with a friend this morning- glad we went early- it was getting pretty warmish by about 10am. Fun to ride without cars around- neat stretch of road. Looked like they had a good turn-out so far for the event. Happy Cinco de Mayo! :)

Great event. Took off from the mall and headed out Old Placerville and back on Scott. Nice to have an entire road to bikes (and peds close to town). How did the city afford to pay off the weather gods for this one? Hope they do this some more. I know the train folks had their hands full with the races, but would have been fun to see them doing rides along Old Placerville as well.

Rode from home in Orangevale, to trailhead, to turnover, to Whole Foods, to BBQ at the top of Oak, back home again. 42 miles today.

I believe the event lasted until 4pm. I know they did the same thing last year.......but am unclear if it is going to be an annual event or what. Hope so! :)
