Looks like the Super Bowl is coming west to the new 49rs stadium for the 50 th  event in 2016.

Where can we get tickets ?

BOSTON -- The 50th Super Bowl will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area.

NFL owners voted Tuesday for the 49ers' new stadium as host of the 2016 game. That facility in Santa Clara, Calif., is due to open for the 2014 season.

San Francisco beat out South Florida, which was stymied in its bid to stage an 11th Super Bowl when the Florida Legislature did not support financing to renovate Sun Life Stadium.

The 2017 Super Bowl will be held in Houston, which also beat out Miami for that game.

The only previous Super Bowl played in northern California was at Stanford Stadium in 1985.

Houston hosted the 2004 NFL championship game.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Meh... indifferent. It will be a nice economic boost to the area, but average folks like me will still be watching it on TV so it really doesn't matter where they have it. I'd like to go since having it local and not needing to pay $15k in travel costs is probably the only chance I'd ever have to attend a Super Bowl, but tickets are so expensive and difficult to get.

Do season ticket holders get Superbowl tix?

I know they are screwing the people with the same seat license crap the Raiders did a few years back. So what's it cost to support the 49ers now? ~30-50k for season ticket?

My boss has season tix that have been in the family since the '40s. They're pretty good seats on the 50 in a low row in the upper deck, which I think is around $100-130 per game per seat. She will have to give them up when they move to the new stadium because of the cost. They have four tickets and the bullshyt seat licensing fee is $80k per ticket! So $320k just for the right to buy season tickets. Then the actual tickets will jump to $640 each or $2560 per game plus parking. So yeah... they're giving them up after almost 70 years. Pretty sad.

STH get put into a lottery for a chance to get tickets since each team only gets a small percentage of the seats to dole out that is nowhere near the number of STHs they have.

My friends Dad is in the same boat. Had tickets since forever. 40 yd line, 20 rows up from the field. Now he's priced out since he's like 75 and on a limited income.

So I guess the stadium will be filled with Qualcomm and Google execs and other hedge fund guys while anybody who makes under 500k/year can even think about affording a game?

At least people can still buy the gear and support the team at the local sports bar. Oh wait, that place got shut down by the Feds! Couch time it is!
