Glad I could help.

The Sacramento Master gardener program has their annual Harvest Day on Saturday August 3rd at the Fair Oaks Horticulture center from 8 - 2.  Lots of great speakers, educational booths and Master gardeners to answer questions.  We have a Demonstration orchard, berry patch, vineyard, herb garden, vegetable garden water efficient garden and compost demonstration area with a vermiculture bed too.  Come see us if you can.  It's free.

There are a couple of resident roosters that live next door at the park district maintenance yard.  And last year someone brought some really unusual chickens to an educational table to show.  Not sure if they were selling them or just showing.

But mostly it's gardening stuff.  The community garden is open to view as well, it's a huge garden with many individual plots and and a good sized food bank garden too.  A few vendors have plants too.  4 different speakers.  Here's the link to the main page so you can see the speakers.

Farmer Fred is kicking things off; he's a great way to start the morning.  Then a chef who will cook produce he picks from our garden that morning, a couple of Master gardeners speaking on compost/ vermiculture and a river friendly speaker.  A little something for everyone.
