The 10th annual Folsom Live party is coming September 21.

Are you going?

Have you been before?

What do you think of the line up?

This year's lineup includes:

The English Beat (british pop/ska band from the 80's), Tommy Castro and the Painkillers (great blues band), The Black Eyed Dempseys (modern Irish), The Infamous Swanks (rockabilly), party bands like The Cheeseballs and Rutabaga Boogie, and cover/tribute bands Motley Inc (Motley Crue), Aerorocks (Aerosmith), Bump City (Tower of Power), and The Hollywood Stones (The Rolling Stones), and more.

Who's in?

Who's out?

I used to volunteer every year (fun to watch the drunks) but they are so screwed up in that department, that I did not do anything last year.  Bands look decent, geared towards the older crowd it seems (oh, yeah that's because they have money to spend).

I've volunteered for it several times, and will again this year.

I know that organizing volunteers can be like herding cats, and people get moved around as needed, but overall it's a great experience.

The worst that happened last year was that a guy wanted to fight me to be able to use the VIP area bathrooms.

I'll go to see the English Beat, I saw them play at Folsom Live a couple years  ago and had a good time.

I like the sound of these bands!  I like that they are catering to an older crowd too.  makes it better for everyone to keep the entire focus off of rock.  well done!  thanks for being such a solid volunteer, Steve!  I hope the weather is perfect.

the irish band sounds fun!

To my knowledge just Dave Wakeling. I think Ranking Roger has his own group.

Wakling is a kick to see, he gave a great performance at Folsom Live a couple years ago.

Steve, let me know if any volunteers are still needed.

I've been working on my frequent flyer miles, building mass storage systems at data centers around the globe. Fun stuff, and the freq flyer perks are nice!

Thanks for the info, I'm now signed up.

never been
Being in a crowd of rowdy drunks does not sound appealing to me (I don't drink. Don't like crowds.)
I'm not familiar with any of the bands.
I hadn't really even thought of going due to #2 response
Being a volunteer might be fun, but it would depend on what I was doing

What department did you feel was screwed up? The volunteering or the drunks? I always thought the chamber did a great job with their volunteers.

Folsom Live has a little bit of something for everyone. All types of music is represented and it's a lot of fun.

Here's a few examples of some of the bands from past years:
