Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Folsom PD traffic officers who have been out ticketing lawbreaking motorists on Sibley. I've seen vehicles pulled over by motorcycle officers every morning this week!
Great job, and thanks again.

you know with this slow down movement that can't work with out the police getting behind it, folks migh get it going more by honking and waving when they drive by the policemen giving out the ticket.
would be sort of like what the fans did for bobby jackson at the kings game and just maybee the old policeman would get all charged up and get on the cycle and write a couple of more tickets.
i had a policeman friend one time tell me its kind of sad when you give a ticket cause you got to hear a sad story about how the speeder just made a mistake and would he please let them go.
the policeman said it is fun thought when the ticket went with to a person with a bad attitude...would be interesting wheter the folks in folsom who get tickets tell sad stories or have attitudes....
its been my experience that bmw folks probably have bad attitudes...
honk and wave thank you the next time you see a folsom policeman writing a ticket...if we see a lot of this going on it will show the power of myfolsom.com

Actually, honking and waving to an officer at a stop is not the best thing to do. I'd suggest giving a thumbs up instead (as opposed to a wave which at a glance might be misinterpreted as a gesture for assistance) and hope the officer sees you.
Did you know that honking your horn is against the law except for when you're trying to warn someone of a dangerous situation?

Terry, you seem to know a LOT about law enforcement. Were you a police officer in a former life? Call it a hunch...

some good points about the honking, what I'm going to do is slow down give the old thumbs up and a yell "hoooraaa" so they policemen knows we are gehind him...I have see a few police hanging out for folks that blow stop signs.
since old soldier dosn't like folks who don't live in folsom driving through the town if they are not shopping, maybe the council could jack up the fine on second offenses.
hooraaa

Can we please write tickets for people who have slowed down TOO much??? I was behind a lady going 5 (yes 5!!!) mph on Riley Street and then onto Glenn. She actually slowed down to a stop at a green light! That's when I finally honked, and she just waved to me.
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

hey tessica, the old lady might have been drunk...use you cell phone to call the police. are you sure when she waved she wasn't giving you what we used to call the international friendship sign..
its too bad we all can't have lights and sirens the the police and fire folks have, that would move folks along.

Anyone notice traffic has calmed somewhat on Bidwell and Sibley as a result of the sewer replacement project? The Comstock sewer replacement project goes from Comstock and Bidwell (Comstock runs parallel to Riley where the school district bus storage yard used to be), down Bidwell all the way to Folsom Blvd. Looks like Bidwell will be torn up right down the middle (per the current markings). Might be inconvenient for those of us who are local, but again, like the old closure on Sibley and Lembi, it might be worth it peace-wise.
