Is it true that the Lexus SUV LX 470 for the year 2006 will change to VX 470 or VX 550.

Lexus will discontinue the LX 470 and replace it with the VX 470 or VX 550?

Toyota (Lexus's parent company) want to compete headon with American manufacturers' large luxury SUV lines such as the Escalate?

What's the main difference between those models?

It is a rumor that the LX 470 will be replaced by the VX 470 or VX550 (just a difference in the names). The new VX will have the Toyota Sequioa chassis. It's something like that, without confirmation.

We processed the paperwork to buy the LX470 and then cancelled it the next day because of the rumor, among other reasons.!!!

Doesn't the LX 470 use the Sequoia chassis now?

Never liked either.... too high... always feel like it's going to roll over at the next turn. I like the height on the Highlander....

Next summer we'll probably be in the market for another vehicle.

Still debating.... minivan or SUV.... Honda or Toyota..... smile.gif

Its height and high center of gravity is also my big concern for safety, but after I saw the LX 470 demo of its Adaptive Variable Suspension with Adjustable Height Control I was sought. Its body can be lower by 4 inches!!! This was the deciding factor in my accepting to buy the LX 470 . I don't really care the the luxury, but my wife does.

You're both going to work after the baby is born?

Either Honda or Toyota is good. Minivan for safety, SUV for style and macho. biggrin.gif

Yes, we both still work after the baby.

We already did our homework of financial planning - the worst case scenerio is that we will buy the Lexus and be on welfare biggrin.gif .

I think we will be ok.

65k seriously, if you aren't wealthy why would you want to pay that much for a car? Are they really that much better?
