The 54th annual Folsom Pro Rodeo returns 4th of July weekend with 3 nights of family entertainment!

Festivities begin with the Cattle Drive and Parade down Historic Sutter Street on July 2nd.  An event not to be missed, trans.giffor just a couple of hours each year summer, our city of over 70,000 becomes a small town again, with a parade featuring an old stagecoach, local dignitaries, cowboys, cowgirls, and of course, cows.

A herd of longhorns is rounded up and brought right down the middle of Sutter, commemorating a time when this was standard practice as cattle were taken to the docks and train depots for shipment to buyers all over the West.

Modern touches to the parade include US Army vehicles, motocross stunt riders, and this year, a parachutist will land right on Sutter Street, trailing smoke and carrying the American flag.

Then, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th, there will be the nightly entertainment of the rodeo itself.

This family-friendly event features bull-riding, barrel racing, motocross, the Painted Ladies drill team, mutton bustin', clowns, fireworks, music and more.

Cattle Drive will be at 6pm.

BTW, we need more volunteers. Anyone interested, please go to http://fcoc.ivolunteer.com/cattledrive

The website incorrectly states that the shift is noon to 4pm, when it's actually 430p to 7p.
